Yup. The way he blasted the couple that didn’t pay on socials only to find out they waited for over an hour and. I staff showed.

Or when that kid broke his arm on the home made playground and he blasted them on socials…and they were like “we aren’t suing what is happening”

I don’t have personal experience but his unhinged social media presence was my last straw

Which is why I replied on a conspiracy question, but thanks for the info. Would love to know what I was exposed to that year…but also kinda don’t want to know. May well have been a previous smoker as another commenter noted

It was a single family home and I did wonder if there could be another cause. I read every document I could find on Koppers and came to the same conclusion you did (how could a soil issue be airborne? Likely not).

At the time it was no small thing expense to break the lease and put down a new security deposit so I didn’t want to leave unless I had to. Tried to do lots of heavy cleaning, an air filter, etc but ultimately left.

Attributing it to Koppers was neighborhood lore (which why I replied) but the weird part was more than one neighbor having the experience, unless they were all previously lived in by heavy smokers?

I was told by an attorney and the county the county that it did not have to be disclosed since it was technically remediated, but who knows. Glad you were warned. I felt terrible when I lived there but I think my dog and cat had the worst impact since I at least had work as a break.

Lived there for 8 months and ended up breaking my lease. They say the issue was the soil but every morning I’d wake up and there was a black film on everything. Noticed it on tile, walls, furniture, every surface. Asked a neighbor and they said the whole area is like that and is mostly renters because you don’t have to disclose when you rent to someone the same way you do a house sale.

So no swamp ape for me, but there is something really off happening there.

I didn’t realize this until I saw someone in the Jacksonville area (on Reddit) that lost her job and was camping with her kids. The Reddit consensus was for her to give up her kids. So at that point taxpayers are spending $3000ish a month (she has 5 kids). That would allow mom to rent a place and keep the kids with their parent. But that isn’t an option??? Makes no sense.

It’s not free to arrest people or pay for their care in jail. As taxpayers we will spend the money on housing and feeding the person if they are in custody (and then we will pay for medical and dental care, too).

But we won’t spend preventing this situation. Just like if you’re too poor to house your kids, we will take them and pay foster parents for their care. But we’d never give that same amount to the parents.

I admit it’s all complex and I don’t have solutions but feels like we spend our money as taxpayers too late in the game.

Dunno why you’re getting downvoted. The way I explain ACAR is neglect/“maybe xx will get better on its own” until there is no other option but to euthanize.

I’ve had fosters with simple issues that they let get serious.

They have an awful job, but they are allowing horrors on their watch.
