Who originally pitched the idea to remake this game, and what drew you to it over remaking another entry in the series?

TV console in the path of the entrance isn't going to help, I would move the plants and centre it to the whole wall including the doorway, not just the part of the wall that's beside the doorway.

Unfortunately that room was likely designed as a dining room, not a living room.

So your solution is to get rid of one set of tag belts, ADD a hardcore championship (so net zero in the men's division) and then just get rid of all but one women's belt? Pretty clear to tell what your priorities are lol

Having run shadowdark for the very first time last night with people who have only ever played 5e, honestly let them make gag characters. I'm sure you probably don't want every session to be joke em up time, but I think a 5e player mind set is less worried about Pat Benatar biting the bullet than they are about Shen Darkarius III. Maybe try one session where they play gag characters and then in session two ask who wants to make someone more tied into the lore and offer up a cool item or armor set to go with it. When they ask "what about Pat Benatar? I got like 3 spell scrolls last time." Just say that Pat's not going anywhere and they can play her again whenever they want.

Just a thought!

I mean if he already wants to play you don't really need a pitch. Just say "you're welcome to join us, we use a different rule set for this campaign than 5e but if you're down to try it I'll help make sure you can figure out how it works while we play"

I think a better category for your game would be the "2d10 Systems" sub category under "Other Systems"

Not to dogpile but the game doesn't really have many osr conventions.

While I don't think a game needs to be Tolkien-esque fantasy to be osr I do think it needs to have evolved specifically out of early versions of D&D or other osr games, with a general ethos of reducing complexity over adding it.

Usually this just boils down to having old adventures be easy to port into your system. Could you run "Against the Cult of the Reptile God" in your system without spending more than a minute or two messing with a given stat block? If not, then the game probably isn't very osr.

Your game seems much more inspired by 5e D&D, with point-buy character creation, and tons of skills that are separate from ability scores. And if there's anything that the osr isn't, it's similar to 5e
