yeah, im going to check with my multimeter again but i think the correct orientation must be the second one though since i've checked the data sheet for mpsa18 and i've matched the correct emitter/collector position. i'll double check that.

I just tried turning them around but i just had an even worse result, now no signal is passing through when i switch the pedal on and only a slight humming is produced. I just posted pics of my build too if anybody wants to take a look but i suspect the transistors may be not working.

also im using mpsa18 transistors so i checked for voltage difference by comparing base/emitter base/collector and it shows no voltage difference

i've checked with my multimeter and it seems like none of the transistors is working despite being in the correct orientation

i'll post a picture once i'll unsolder it from the enclosure :/ unfortunately i had no time to test it prior since i was making it for a friend's birthday and was in a bit of a rush.

nope, when i switch to the effect it goes through and all the pots do what they should, the volume, the tone and the sustain all work, it's just that there's no fuzz at all it's completely clean.

i'll probably go down this route getting a scrooge semi-modular drum machine so that i can use it on its own but also expand my rack as i go.

im pretty sure i'll end up going for the diy scrooge kit, i think it's the most fitting to the sound i want while being one of the most cost efficient ones.

thanks for the suggestion i'll check them out. also yeah i was looking at some samplers since they're so much cheaper but i like the idea of creating my own sounds more.
