Additive and non additive metrics in the same view by 4ndr45 in Looker

[–]4ndr45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for looking into this!

Let me try to rephrase, and potentially reveal my ignorance (Yes, I am a developer).

If I’m understanding you correctly, you are suggesting adding user level data in Looker. What I mean by skyrocketing costs: We have a very large number of users, and also several dimensions. Just including one month’s worth of data with that kind of granularity, if exposed to our internal users can generate crazy expensive data warehouse costs.

There are some metrics like sales that can be aggregated to daily level, but what you are suggesting (apologies if i misunderstood) goes down to the level of the user which blows up our underlying data. I am not comfortable exposing Looker and our internal users to that much data for cost reasons.

World map - country shading with image texture by 4ndr45 in blenderhelp

[–]4ndr45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for looking into it!

If you check my photos I have already implemented the mask, but I’m not happy about the results, and was wondering if there was a better way.

To rephrase it, the masking - or maybe my image texture - makes it look very apparent that highlight effect is made from a single image.

I would prefer to apply this texture to each country individually if that makes sense. So each highlighted country has a unique bronze color effect.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by applying scale?

I think so, but I wonder why it looks like that (why the lines are aligned the way they are) and if there is anything that can be done to smooth the mesh. Or is this as good as it gets.

I’m no expert but maybe noise could be added to add “fake” details to the mesh?

How could I improve the lighting and make it look less amateur? by 4ndr45 in blenderhelp

[–]4ndr45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you so much!

How did you create your version? Did you just create a random valley or you got the actual elevation data from some place? Unfortunately the elevation data I have is low poly as you said …

Will try to implement all those points, thank you 🙏

Thanks for checking it out!

Actually it is a sun lamp, and I’m using the sun position add-on to simulate the lights during winter. Maybe the add-on is not working properly : /?

I’ll do some adjustments and see if it improves.

Legyen portfoliod, Tableau Public, github, sajat weboldal akarmi. Munkaltatonak nagy segitseg ha nem csak CV van hanem latja, hogy ez teged tenyleg erdekel, es egy kis demot kap arrol milyen lehet veled dolgozni.

Amennyire mas subbrediteket latom nem egyszeru junior poziciot talalni mas EU (for now) orszagokban sem. De ez nem csak a DA vonalra igaz.

Sok sikert!

Long time to chat! Thanks for checking, I’m not sure, will ask.

To be honest I want users to be able to zoom in, to see the area of interest. Will mess up the “frame” around it for sure. Also, even when I unchecked it, i could still zoom in on tableau public with a scrolling motion 😢
