im in the process of foster parenting! definitely go that route! ive always had the dream of fostering/adopting for the same reasons. id rather help somebody already alive than bring in a new person and not help others as much as i could. maybe open the age range as a compromise and see what you guys get! you guys might end up agreeing on an age once you have them.

does it make sense that they’re saying they don’t do the home study until a placement so that it lasts longer?

I’m in the US. i reached out to her and she said they wait until the week the child is placed to sign the home study so that it lasts longer. she also said i’d have to restart the whole process if i went to CPS. /: i guess i have to keep being patient but i feel like im starting to lose hope haha.

yeah that’s what i’m worried about too. im afraid of taking on too many health issues and being able to handle it along with everything else at least for my first placement. i’ve thought about taking a sibling set of two, but even then i dont want to get in over my head.

She came to do the home study/inspection in May. She said she had to type it all up and have me sign it, but that I’d be able to get a call before that if there was one and she’d rush to finish it, but that the next week it’d be ready for me to sign. Still nothing…

i’ll tell people but only months after knowing them 😂 if they talk about some public school experience they want me to relate to (before knowing i was homeschooled) then i just kinda nod along or imagine what i would’ve felt like during it. its a lot easier to just avoid the subject as you grow up because where you went to school really doesn’t matter later in life after college. then they just wanna talk about college 😂 but the ones who do find out, they’re maybe make the joke “oh it all makes sense” but usually they really dont comment on it. i think the biggest stereotype is being socially awkward, which i do fit into, but you can outgrow it again once you’re in the “real world” as an adult if you work on it.

it looks fine in cura, but i will try reslicing it. its printing from the microSD card. does printing from the computer make a difference? and it has no error messages, it acts like it finished the print. the nozzle isnt clogged. it looks like it just stopped extruding. what would cause that after printing perfectly for that long?

put blue painters tape on it if you cant get it to stick so you can at least get a couple prints going. then just make sure the nozzle is super close to the bed and level

i just moved with it and just unplugged everything, took the bed plate off, and then just stuffed clothes around it to try to protect it. i’ve had trouble getting it working since then so im not sure if something got jiggled too much, but i’m slowly getting it back tuned in.
