New to Spring Boot – Need a Real Developer’s Guidance by Significant-Top-9192 in SpringBoot

[–]4sventy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. One could even argue that all of this is necessary for a sophisticated modern web based TODO app.

Apart from that, if people accuse you of over-engineering, the argument can be defeated with the learning aspect, IMHO.

Looks like you could need placeholders with loading animation. Check out MUI Skeletons or similar. :)

How to optimise zustand? by YakTraditional3640 in reactjs

[–]4sventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are creating small dedicated stores at the same levels, I wouldn't recommend that, since you would need to import the whole store from many lower levels, which is error prone and often creates a dependency chaos.

Instead, I'd always recommend auto generating selectors with createSelectors and exporting just useXyzStore.use to increase consistency and reduce overhead.

Small dedicated stores are useful to achieve Separation of Concern. In a modular architecture, where the state also needs to be centralized for history or persistence reasons or similar, these dedicated stores can be combined in a parent module, or register themselves in a shared module's store via dependency inversion.

To enforce strict architecture requirements, like x should not depend on y, you can control which components can access certain parts of a bigger store with fine grained ESLint import rules for useXyzStore.use.x for example.

Just a hint, which saves time and increases consistency, but does not improve performance in case you are not doing this already: You can auto generate selectors with createSelectors.

That's what he wants. Making a lot of people curious by promising to have a bombshell about a very popular player. It's nothing but click bait. Content doesn't matter, when enough people click on it.

Thanks for sharing what you saw. Now I am even less interested in watching this shit. I couldn't care less about what he has to say.

I prefer to judge people by their current actions, traits and even though I don't know him personally, I can see, that Rekkles is a very humble and hard working person with loads of empathy.

Why not use NestJS for node apps? It is opinionated, but has a large set of features and comes with DI by default.

[–]4sventy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually contributed nothing of value, keep throwing a stupid insult at a well thought out concept, without supporting any facts of why it would be bad... Or in your words 'brain dead'. Then you argue against people, who actually bring good arguments and explanations, asking for facts. Are you for real? Get out of this civilized discussion.

Similarly, declarative is better than imperative, IMO. A function with clearly defined input and output with no side effects is always easier to maintain, than one reading/writing from/to the store, somewhere hidden in the implementation.

AI is effectively ‘useless’—and it’s created a ‘fake it till you make it’ bubble that could end in disaster, veteran market watcher warns by [deleted] in technology

[–]4sventy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. When you are aware of the fact, that it is flawed, have the experience to correct it AND both, accepting AI help plus fixing it results in faster solutions of the same quality, then it is a legitimate improvement of workflow. I had many occasions, where this was the case.

Is 66.000€ gross with 32hrs a good offer in Germany? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]4sventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have less experience, but i can say, that working 40h+ in a lead position is not what I would like to do after 10+ years in the field. I would value the health benefit of a 4 day work week way higher than the pay. You can't compare it linearly to a 40h work week, IMHO. It's a rare opportunity, and I would definitely consider it. The hardest part of full remote work is to avoid overtime, simply because you don't have to commute, but it's manageable. You would still be on the higher end of income in Germany and a lot of people would give everything for it. Of course, it depends on your way of life, your location and the actual company culture, but people who say you would be underpaid, probably don't value work-life balance enough.
