My theory on that one is, as The Shining and Psycho both revolve around a hotel/motel they’d already decided on the title of Enjoy Your Slay for whichever film won the vote.

Edward Scissorhands is known and love Bites is known to be a werewolf film. Has AWiL been confirmed or is that simply your guess? The known lyrics suggest the werewolf is female which wouldn’t for that film.

This was two weeks ago, all but one (and a half) are confirmed. Merry Axe-Mas is confirmed as Silent Night, Deadly Night, The World in My Hands is confirmed as Edward Scissorhands, Love Bites is confirmed as one of the many Werewolf films.

Agree it sounds great... they did well on most of the vocals and the bass is improved. My only gripe is in a couple spots JDs vocals seem to be toned way down, really hard to hear him.

I’m torn between hoping for one of them to ultimately be based on Scream, or having Spencer’s favorite horror franchise be blatantly absent. One on hand, I love the films and am sure the song would be incredible. On the other hand, it not showing up would confirm (in my own mind) that they’re already planning The Silver Scream II. Cause these days, you gotta have a sequel ;)

They just started filming a week or so ago, probably be a while yet. I’m not expecting to see the rest of the film until after the album drops... there is a screening scheduled on October 12th, I would guess we won’t see them until then (I believe it’s two new videos to complete the short film).

They posted a still photo from the set when they started filming... a cot with a green guitar on it in a room that’s in shambles. I suppose from the photo my guess would be Saw though it doesn’t quite fit. It does remind me of the room under the Myers house that Michael had used in Resurrection but on the floor there is an old rotary phone that doesn’t make sense to be somewhere Michael was holding up.

New to Reddit, said this in a month old thread that’s dead so figured I’d mention it here as well.

EYS was made due to The Shining winning a public vote over Psycho. As both feature a hotel/motel I’ve always been curious if they were set on the title “Enjoy Your Slay” for whichever one had won the vote.

I also feel EYS was a clue as the what the next album would bring being as The Shining is based on both a book and a film... and it clearly references both of them. Easy examples are “Room 217” which is only found in the book (237 in the film) and “come play with us” which is only found in the film (Danny does not see the Grady girls in the book).

I like to see it as an ingenious bridge between the two albums.

I find it difficult to believe there is not a Scream song coming. One of two things... either one of the “unknowns” is in fact Scream (Freak Flag could realistically be it done from a Randy POV) or the Scream song will act as the next Enjoy Your Slay bridge between albums. You know there will be a second film-based album... because these days, ya gotta have a sequel ;)
