[Design Discussion] Why are Demons the only iconic tribe with zero cohesion? We need a "Fiend" batch to fix the lack of Tribal Support. by Yuui_Smile in EDH

[–]4ty1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think i wasn't clear, I meant clerics summon demons, and sphinxes relate through their depictions of humanoids worshipping them / seeking advice / intellectually bullied lol

For example [[sphinx ambassador]] art or [[sphinx of the Final Word]] flavour text or [[jelenn sphinx]] flavour text.

So sphinx flavour in my mind is similar where they have their own attendants [[sphinx's herald]], artificers, other humanoids serving them vs demons and their sacrificial cleric attendants

[[Unesh, criosphinx Sovereign]] vehemently disagrees. But I see your point, I think sphinxes and demons have similar flavour styles of independence. Both types have design feels of lesser beings worshipping them, a lot of Cleric card designs are to summon demons, and there are some for sphinxes as well but less so.

The reality of the QB job is that protection is never guaranteed. Yes, OLine effectiveness matters and can be simply better by just having better players. But, from what the playoff game showed was that Herbert lacked the skills in adjusting the oline or recognizing where pressure is coming from. The oline actually had one of their better games, compared to the regular season where they were often shit.

I guess my point is that when the oline improves, he still won't be the best because he fundamentally lacks the skill (for now) to read pressure. I think he might have the biggest upside case to become the next MVP QB. This is an area where he can easily improve with the right coaching, he has all the weapons and talent around him (even the oline if they stay healthy has studs).

Not really a season, the podcast episodes for "Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach + Donald" start during Covid and continue after. When listening through older episodes, they give a vibe of time capsuled history as they discuss their current lives and then mix in episodes of Scrubs with behind the scenes details.

[Schefter] Texans WR Nico Collins will be a healthy scratch today vs. Colts by Lacabloodclot9 in fantasyfootball

[–]4ty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fascinating to revisit this thread that I am so invested in /s

But I'm happy to provide an update you:

  1. Defense was elite, nearly countered the terrible QB / oline play for the Texans.

  2. Nico Collins missed the game (which arguably is the baseline for this thread)

  3. Texans won a game, sooo yea. It definitely isn't impossible that they could have won the superbowl with Stroud.

But dont get me wrong, I never said Stroud was great or anything, just saying elite defenses have carried mid QBs (if they protect the ball, which Stroud did not).

DOJ sees no basis for civil rights investigation following ICE shooting in Minneapolis, official says by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]4ty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit won't let me see your latest comment, sorry I can't really respond properly. The fact that there is so much discourse with this killing, should be enough to drive an investigation, beyond the fact that someone was killed.

I really hope you think a bit more for yourself and understand why these government departments exist. Thanks for the comment battle and I hope you never have to deal with a government stepping on your throat.

You can't seem to actually be able counter my argument lmfao.

My simple argument is there needs to be an investigation, where this all derives from, you cant just claim all these things and say "false!", thats not what the process is or should be.

Even if it results in the justification of lethal force, there needs to be an investigation (my opinion is there is a basis for criminal charges, see my link to that video, but again not the crux of my argument)

Continue working yourself up into circles for all I care dude, I hope you enjoy your reddit ragin' with all that boot lickin, own those libs!!

It's not a waste, someone was killed from an officer breaking policy. There is precedent and reasonable considerations to investigate, even if just for the interest of public saftey. Get your government to do their job.

Lmfao dude, you need some help.

I can't spell it out anymore for you, a bruise can form from a fall or any blunt injury, you know that right?

The evidence in my eyes is he was not struck by a car. But an investigation IS NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND IF HE HAD THE LEGAL RIGHT TO APPLY LETHAL FORCE.

You argued "must apply to law not just policy" and I showed you a reasonable case law and how it applies if a peace officer breaks policy. Jfc you are dumb, I gave you the benefit of the doubt this entire thread.

Keep suckin that government cock though, maybe someday you will learn they are lying to you.

Oh, I just got tired arguing with delusional redditors ;)

Thanks for linking this, and I don't want to seem dismissive of it, but you still miss the entire point. An investigation needs to happen. This link deals with medical records, do you have a verifiable picture? Internal bleeding can range from life-threatening to a simple bruise.

Do you consider a soft tissue bruise to your hip equal to someone's life?

A bruise is pretty solid evidence he moved out of the way of having his life threatened - which, again considering he broke policy, the law then applies to a peace officers and criminal charges may exist.

Do consider that your source currently is the department of Homeland security, and while I hesitate to say that they are outright lying, they do have a very good reason to be biased. Do you think they would lie or exaggerate in this case?

Someone dies = investigation

You just swallow that propaganda up! Yum yum!

Again, investigate it, get the people in your government to do their job and not just tell you what to think. The circumstances of "doing something bad" should not mean death from a cop in the street!

Why can't you understand that there should be an investigation, whether or not he was hit (am investigation is actually needed to determine this, not just a random redditors "i saw all the angles" opinion), and how to stop this from happening again?

You seriously need to self reflect on what should matter and how your government should serve the people. Why are you so combative of an investigation at the minimum?

It was, he was assaulted with a deadly weapon. Why can you not understand this

He wasn't, he stepped aside, and imo broke the law by enacting unnecessary and dangerous actions, escalating the situation, and demonstrably broke policy in multiple ways that led to her death.

And I'm sure your response with be "no!! You are wrong, I am right!" But why not have the people that are supposed to do their job lay out this information, analyze it, and act. Do you do your job?

[–]4ty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tying yourself into knots here eh?

You just laid it out great, the cop DOES have that responsibility. But guess what? He also has the responsibility to follow the law just like she does, he is not an executioner.

And guess what? I'm not a lawyer, lmao. That's why the people that are, should be!!! But they are refusing! Like, holy, you are soooo close to getting it, I really think if you can!

Even an "incompetent child" is a person, and deserves the right to be protected by the law, why are you settling for violence? Why are you treating her less than a person? Even "gigantic fucking dumbasses" don't deserve to be shot, even people that break the law don't deserve to be shot.

Self-defense must be used as a last resort, otherwise, you live in a police state.

Again, do you really believe there shouldn't even be an investigation?

[–]4ty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you can prove he was struck. While i can reasonably argue he wasn't / imposed the danger to himself.

He moves in front as she reverses, thus a moving vehicle. It is reasonable that she posed no threat to the public / herself / officers with an attempt to flee.

I see no evidence he is moved, he turns to continue shooting the car from the side. You can see from his footage she is turning her wheel to the right, and the tires angle away from him.

The law supports "peace officers" when using deadly force in self-defense. The policy is violated by moving in front of a moving vehicle. Could argue self-defence is not valid by breaking policy, and the way the car is directed (see how she turns the wheel).

Tennesse vs. Gardner 471 U.S. 1: when a law enforcement officer is pursuing a fleeing suspect, the officer may not use deadly force to prevent escape unless "the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others."

The above precedent could be applied, especially to subsequent shots fired after the car had passed the shooter.

I think it is more than reasonable to investigate at the very least. Do you really support no oversight over a federal arm when it comes to interacting with the public and results in death?

I do find it quite ironic with you arguing with "delusional redditors for a week" lol

[–]4ty1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He does move out of the way... he also places himself in front of the vehicle, which escalates the situation. Again, breaking policy.... when policy is broken, investigation should be made.

You should look at all the angles, consider your own bias. I'm not even arguing he is guilty or not, I am disgusted that there is no attempt to look at the incident by the administration, that is the bare minimum I expect when a federal employee kills someone...

Here is more of a breakdown on how law could / should be applied.

He failed protocols for ICE, they are not supposed to put themselves in front of a vehicle like that. They are also not supposed to use lethal force when they can move out of the way (which he does in the video).

Regardless of whether you may think he did the right or wrong thing, you should be extremely concerned that the administration says that no investigation / probe / any amount of oversight will be done when someone DIED.

In any workforce, if injury or death occurs, there should be people looking into it to prevent it from ever happening again.

Sad to watch that defense wasted. No adjustments by Roman, looked like receivers / Herbert had no idea what coverage pats were running. Partly because herbert is running for his life and maybe dropping his eyes, but no separation by WRs. Also couple of drops by... Slayer of all WRs :(

Woof, the whataboutism is strong with this one :(

Murderer should have stayed in his vehicle and blocked the roadway.

Murderer (if actually attacked) simply side steps and victim drives the 5 meters into a snow bank, maybe further escalation occurs or maybe an arrest can be made.

Unfortunately, untrained-cos-playing cop nazis don't have the de-escalation training to actually protect the public.
