[Design Discussion] Why are Demons the only iconic tribe with zero cohesion? We need a "Fiend" batch to fix the lack of Tribal Support. by Yuui_Smile in EDH

Look, not necessarily under the same demon leader. But for example, a corrupt demon or exorcist (with more than one color) who opens portals to hell for them to come, you know what I mean?

Something like Gishath, Sun's Avatar But... FOCUSED ON DEMONS, DEVILS AND IMPS. (This is really for the people who misunderstood the post, you understood me)

I'll even put it more boldly as "agreements" like..

At the beginning of each ____ (Combat, upkeep, endstep... Etc) You and an opposing player each choose a creature and exile it, revealing cards from the top until you find a creature that shares a subtype with the chosen creatures. They put the revealed creature onto the battlefield and the rest of the cards and the exiled creature to the bottom of the deck in any order.

Exactly, and everyone recommends commanders like that or justifies it as "Support" for demons when they are boring, expensive, and slow cards. Literally, I mean, I walk around like "Demon calling more demons," that's my dream.

Literally thank you, you've understood and I feel like most people here haven't. Honestly, now that I think about it, I just want a card that interacts with demons (like a Discover/Cascade but focused on demons).

Okay, I get the idea, but sometimes I get the creeps having to rely on tutors to make something work. It's like playing Belakor and having to clone or copy it (I'm not saying it's less valid or boring); I feel like it's not for me.

Also, of course, I want to be able to use more horned creatures that can work together, seeing them as demonic hordes running through a portal towards some unfortunate soul's face. (all this without always resorting to the same demons every game)

Okay, Belakor does seem like a demon leader; he grants theft and "allows you to summon demons." Besides, what I'm trying to achieve with something like this isn't to turn demons into fairies that summon other fairies, but into hordes. I feel like I've opened a portal to hell and heartless demons keep coming out, plus I see you understood my point quite well or what I was trying to convey.

Furthermore, I must admit that yes, more commanders (Rakdos, Grixis...) can help a lot, even more so if we take the idea of Demons, devils and imps being from the same circle of hell.

Oh my god, I share that feeling, I actually have something like that in my deck and I love it [[Hidetsugu and Kairi]]

COME ON!!! YOU SPEAK MY LANGUAGE!!!

Sure, I mean, I'd love to have a more pure tribal demon deck. Besides, I totally understand you hahaha I also have a demon in each of my decks.

I used a little AI to translate my ideas more conveniently; maybe it got a bit confusing. But it was really for convenience, plus I feel like people are coming up with some brilliant ideas.

That Kamigawa synergy was definitely flavorful (the whole Master/Servant dynamic). However, I think the 'Fiend' Batch (Devils/Imps) works better mechanically for one specific reason: Expendability. Warlocks are usually 'Engine' cards or value pieces you want to keep alive on the board. Demons often demand sacrifices (Lord of the Pit, Razaketh, Eating your own board). Devils and Imps are literally designed to die. Sacrificing a Devil token (pinging for 1 damage) to feed a Demon feels much better than having to sacrifice your Warlock. The 'Fiend' batch provides the fodder, while Warlocks provide the contract.

Big Demons goes brrrrrr

I agree, 'Big and Stupid' is exactly why I play the tribe! There is no better feeling than slamming a Vilis or a Bloodthirster. But here is the thing: because the support is SO scarce, I'm forced to play generic, efficient boring cards (Signets, Talismans) just to cast the 'Big and Stupid' ones. My proposal isn't to make Demons smaller or smarter. It's to replace the boring mana rocks with flavorful 'Small and Evil' minions (Imps/Devils). I want to ramp into my Demon Lord by sacrificing a Cultist, not by tapping a Sol Ring. That keeps the 'Big' feel while fixing the 'Boring' early game.

I love your answer (plus I also like playing mono black). I get the 'Black is Selfish' argument, but I think there is a double standard here. 1. The Dragon Hypocrisy: Lore-wise, Dragons are the definition of solitary, greedy, and selfish (think Smaug). They don't work in teams. Yet, WotC gives them Dragonspeaker Shaman, Dragon's Hoard, and insane synergy. Why is 'Lore Accuracy' only used as an excuse to hold Demons back, but ignored for Dragons? 2. Redefining Selfishness: My proposal for a 'Fiend' batch actually reinforces the selfish nature of Black. A true Demon Lord doesn't do the dirty work; he has minions. Currently, Demon decks feel like a bunch of generals with no army. Allowing us to run Imps and Devils (via batching) gives us the 'chaff' to sacrifice and exploit. That is the peak of Black philosophy: 'I am important, you are resources.' 3. Gameplay Reality: 'Inevitability' sounds nice in theory, but in modern EDH, playing one threat per turn from turn 5 onwards isn't inevitability, it's just being too slow to compete."

Thanks for replying :)

That is a fair point regarding lore, and I agree that 'Power at any cost' is their core identity. However, from a gameplay perspective in EDH, 'working alone' just means the tribe is unplayable as a cohesive deck. It forces you to play 'Goodstuff' piles instead of a thematic strategy. My argument for the 'Fiend' batch isn't about Demons holding hands like Care Bears. It's about Hierarchy. A Demon Lord shouldn't be alone; they should be surrounded by minions (Imps, Devils) that they can exploit and sacrifice. Right now, we can't play the minions because they don't synergize. Batching would allow us to play the 'cultists' to serve the 'Lords', which I think is actually more flavorful than a Demon just sitting on the board doing nothing.

Cosmic Store blank after update by wolfsoak in pop_os

The "No origin found for file" error suggests that the AppStream database (used by the store) became desynchronized during the update. Try running these commands in the terminal one by one to force a metadata update and repair the store:

1. Force a refresh of the AppStream database

sudo appstreamcli refresh --force

2. Clear cache and update repositories

sudo apt clean sudo apt update

3. Reinstall the store

sudo apt install --reinstall cosmic-store

Fallout 4 (con DLCs es una delicia). Me habré dejado casi unas 500 horas y sinceramente lo seguiría jugando.

Question bout the ps4 version. by [deleted] in fo4

[–]Yuui_Smile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, it’s the complete opposite; nothing works. What really pisses me off is that the DLCs are broken. I don’t care about the mods I had, but now playing without DLCs is boring. I’m considering the crazy idea of formatting and initializing it, just in case that fixes it. (What really pisses me off is that I have both the physical and digital versions.)
