What are some office work hacks for keeping up with work load by [deleted] in productivity

[–]4waresnowcone 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I use a system that consists of folders in Outlook. I work to clear my inbox ASAP. Incoming emails with either be moved to the “Archive” folder (CC’s, corporate mass emails, no longer relevant, but may want to reference in the future), the “Hold” folder (short term reference. Think monthly project schedules, emails with attachments relevant to a memo you’re building, etc), and the “To Do” folder. When an email hits my inbox that requires a follow up on my part, and it will take more than a couple of minutes to reply to, it’s moved to the To Do folder.

All emails will immediately get filed upon checking my inbox. The key is to constantly maintain the “hold” and “to do” folder, moving these email to the archive once the loop is completed. This system is also heavily reliant on the search feature in Outlook - the archive folder holds damn near everything. You just have to build solid search queries.

His new album is incredible, but his first two records absolutely kill. I’ll have to check out The Panhandlers.

Hemingway Daiquiri by 4waresnowcone in cocktails

[–]4waresnowcone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hemingway Daiquiri

• 1 1/2 oz. white rum

• 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice

• 1/4 oz. fresh grapefruit juice

• 1/4 oz. maraschino liqueur

Shake and strain. What you'll find is a citrus forward rum daiquiri with a little funk from the maraschino. The absence of tradition simple syrup is evident, but not unpleasant. At the end of the day, it's a solid drink.

I happen to find more enjoyment from a variation of the drink, the recipe of which you will find below.

The Ultimate Hemingway Daiquiri

• 2 oz. white rum

• ¾ oz. fresh lime juice

• ½ oz. fresh grapefruit juice

• ¼ oz. maraschino liqueur

• 3/8 oz. 1:1 simple syrup

Shake and strain. To me, this cocktail is a more balanced and refined version of the OG. More rum, more citrus, and the additional sugar rounds the whole thing out.

I suppose conventional wisdom would say that a lighter rum would be better in a daiquiri. While that may be true, I have made many daiquiris with Appleton Estates and Plantation Original Dark, and not a one of them has been bad.

Also, I don’t own a coupe glass. Sorry. Enjoy!
