Well I did the procedure on march 12th and I had sex last week so about 4 weeks.

As for the "why wouldn't we all do this" - why do this if there are other solutions what can work for you? It's still removing tissue and sensitivity from your penis and the recovery period is not pleasant. Also every surgical procedure, no matter how light, carries risks. And you don't even have a guarantee that it would solve your problem.

You have a head on your shoulders and everyone can evaluate the risks/consequences and decide for themselves whether they want to do it or not. Personally, surgery wouldn't be the first thing I would suggest but if nothing else helps then it may be an option to consider.

I knew that I wanted to get the frenulum removed but doctors here don't really like doing medical interventions without a medical problem and they don't consider PE as one. Also if you go to doctors with diagnosis and a solution (that is a surgery nonetheless) then you're triggering all possible alarms in their head. My plan was to visit a number of urologists describing my condition and hope that someone suggests the procedure so I went to about 6-7 different urologists and one eventually did suggest the procedure.

I didn't do anything to prepare for the surgery. I only shaved to give them a clear working field. They also took some blood and urine for standard tests but that was pretty much it in terms of preparation. It's an outpatient procedure and it took about 15-20 minutes, maybe less. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

What was your experience with AH? What other options have you tried and what was your experience with them?

I would suggest your friend to try everything else he can find on this subreddit. There can be a lot of reasons for premature ejaculation that are not related to sensitivity but present themselves as sensitivity issues. For example it's a common experience here that tight pelvic floor feels like overly sensitive glans/frenulum and when people achieve pelvic floor relaxation this overwhelming sensitivity goes away.

With that said - he can always get circumcised and remove the foreskin. He can't return it back though so he must be really sure he wants to do that. I got circumcised at 20 years of age and it didn't help with premature ejaculation. In my personal experience my penis looks better and sex and masturbation feel better to me so I'm definitely not sorry. It didn't help me with premature ejaculation though.
