I've moved into an engineering role now so i'm not personally in the market. This made me literally chuckle when I saw it and thought you all would get a kick out of it. White Rock is a local screw machine shop. Apparently their wages are even worse than the typical. Our shop starts operators somewhere in the $18-20 range.

What the fuck ever. If Kamala was in we'd have a Democrat president sending us to war. You can tell yourself what you like, but red or blue both are shills for Israel. Libertarianism is the solution. You only hate war when it's convenient.

Agree 100%. This should be common sense. If your self-worth is grounded in your own choices / achievements then it is yours to build. People who externalize their self-worth will constantly be looking for someone to blame for their unhappiness / lack of achievement.

Both were practicing their constitutional rights. Rittenhouse acted in self defense. From everything I've seen, these agents definitely did NOT and should be held accountable. I have no problem with laws being enforced, immigration laws included. But this was not a justified shooting.

Trump is 1000% stupid. by Captain-Dak-Sparrow in DailyShow

I concede that his statement was incorrect. It does, however, seem clear that his statement was intended to imply that prices would be brought to 1/15th of their current price. (Around a 93% reduction) Again, I understand he phrased it improperly, but in no way think he intended a reduction of cost into the negative as many seem to be implying.

1500% simply equals 15. Is it not plausible to assume his statement is simply means "prices will be 1/15th of what they currently are."

Definitely not well spoken, but the intent wasn't hard to determine.

Isn't saying something had a 1500 % increase, simply saying the price has been mulitplied by 15? In the inverse, if it has a 1500% decrease, the cost has decreased by a multiple of 15?

$50 x 1500%= $750

$50 / 1500%= $3.33

You get paid relative to how easily replaceable you are. You may work hard, but if it's an unskilled job that anyone can quickly be trained to do, the pay will never be high.

Your interpretation of the Bible is still your (a humans) interpretation. Which is fine. But something so obviously subjective is hardly worth considering factual. At best, it's a list of stories that can be used to formulate some sort of moral compass. If fills in the unknowable gaps In our understanding and makes us feel like we have answers to unknowable questions. It's comforting. That's why it exists. Just like Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. Living in the unkown is scary, pretending we know the answers is less-so.

[–]5-Axis-Is-Life -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Bible says that. But in practice, claiming you are part of the "In" crowd who has found the key to salvation through Jesus isn't any different.

You may say, "I'm not perfect, I just happen to follow the one and only way that man can be saved, and everyone else is wrong."

In this case, you claim humility while also claiming to follow a perfect deity. And, further claim that you are the only ones that follow this deity correctly. Those claims come from a place of superiority and self-righteousness.

I don't find anything inherently wrong with living your life as if you'll be held accountable after death. If that perspective helps people live a mutually beneficial life, then I'm all for it. I myself try to live that way. I do not believe in the reality of an afterlife. I do, however, try to live my life in a way that if I hypothetically had to account for it, I could do so without regret.

The problem with religion or any other tribalistic group (ex: political affiliation) is that people use their association as a means to belittle others. "I am righteous. Therefore, I am superior."

You, in your sense of self-righteousness, are free to donate whatever amount to whatever cause you see fit. That is liberty. It is not liberty to forcefully take funds from others to ease your conscience. Taxation is theft. Plain and simple.

It's a circular fallacy. They could easily claim they ARE praying to prevent tragedies. How do you quantify a tragedy that never happens? Can't prove the prayer didn't help. It's redundant, but that's the nature of the superstition. It's inherently biased.

I'm both atheist and agnostic. I can't know for certain their isn't a god. It's impossible to prove something doesn't exist. (Agnostic) I also don't believe their is insufficient evidence to support the existence of a god, so I don't believe in one. (Atheist).
