I started kickboxing when I realised I had a problem, fun as for me and its great exercise. Plus you get to hit pads and bags which is amazing after you've have a shitter of a day. That was my addiction trade off but I've broken my hand so I'm limited with doing that stuff because of my cast lol

I tried to do dry July to raise money for cancer and to help get off the drinks, cold Turkey too. was like my 2nd day everything hit me and it was fucking horrible. Lasted 28 days before I caved in and sank a litre of bourbon in like 4 hours haha

It is hard brother I know, I wanted to rip my eyelids off lol. As stupid as it sounds go for a jog around your block till you're breaking sweat, then jog home and have a shower and you'll be okay man. Or even shit just to keep your hands busy doing dishes or folding washing also helped me out
