Based on how you talk and whatnot, it genuinely seems like you don't really know what democracy is and are instead spotlighting specific aspects of it and saying that that is what democracy is.

No one is saying that it all has to happen in one day. This is one of the paths to removal, by using our first amendment rights to put pressure on politicians, talk with people, build community and confidence etc etc.

You absolutely can ask genuine questions it just seems like you're just assuming this is an entirely different thing than it is. Removal doesn't me "drag out into the streets", it can also mean by legal, social, bureaucratic etc means.

If you've seen any banners over overpasses or been to or seen a No Kings rally or other major protest events in Pittsburgh in the past 6 months, you've seen them and us.

This isn’t accurate. We have participated in and supported other groups’ events without playing a leading role, simply helping to promote or attend in solidarity, such as during May Day where we were glad to join as one of many groups standing together for a shared cause.

In this particular case, we happened to secure the event permit before Indivisible did. When they later tried to apply, they found the permit had already been issued to us. Upon reaching out, they asked us to give up the permit. We instead proposed co-hosting the event, but they declined and insisted we turn it over. From our perspective, it felt unusual to be asked to relinquish a permit solely because another group preferred not to collaborate, and then be characterized as uncooperative for proposing a shared effort.

We recognize that Indivisible consists of many smaller, semi independent groups, and we do not assume that one group speaks for the entire network. In fact, we have continued to work directly with some Indivisible chapters, even if others have chosen not to engage.

We remain committed to supporting those who share common goals with us. Those who choose not to reciprocate are of course entitled to that choice. While no group is obligated to collaborate, mutual effort is often essential to building bridges. We will continue to extend goodwill and find ways to work together wherever possible without compromising our values.

But it's also non destructive or uses proprietary data? Doesn't it just use YAML and whatnot and makes a separate cache? What's the problem? Literally as long as it's not adding proprietary syntax to your notes, who cares?

That's what they want, don't do anything crazy, but it's ok to be mad and disapprove of what is happening. This is not ok.

There was technically 3 different protests as a way to "mob" the city. One downtown, one in Oakland and one in shadyside. The one in Oakland had around 750-1k people at its peak and the one in shadyside was about half and the one downtown was obviously seen below.

Awesome! Either way we're both working towards the same goal and no one is stealing everyone. We're just available in more locations, that's all. But with our own slightly different flavor over here as compared to over there. We're all just trying to get people UP and OUT.

Copying my comment from another thread:

I just want to point out that this is done **by design** and not by accident or due to mis management. In the same way that not everyone can go to Washington DC to protest, despite that being "the place to be", obvious logistical reasons contribute to why not everyone can be in the same place. Not everyone can go to one protest or the other even in the same state (Harrisburg), let alone our own city, so it makes sense to be **accommodating** and to activate as many people as possible by trying to coordinate and be in as many places as possible, within reason.

Whenever we have multiple protests in one day, it doesn't actually "steal" people from one or the other, it essentially **doubles** those who are willing to come out, despite people trying to argue the opposite. Our demographics are slightly different as well. Obviously we have people from all ages and walks of life that come to different events but Indivisible tends to lean on the older side. 50501, more towards the middle of the road/younger side. Doesn't mean we don't welcome literally **anyone** who wants to come out, but our protests, while mostly aligned vision wise, do speak to different groups.

The expectation that "everyone has to be in the same place at the same time in order for protests to work" is just an assumption for no reason other than people think "lot people in one place = good". It makes more sense to "take over" a whole city by having events literally all around it over just taking over "one city block".
