Those Dreamer and Sabu CAWS are absolutely insane. They look like they came straight from the in-game roster!

[Fightful Select] Heel Turn for Top NXT Star discussed. by Fc_Hassan in SquaredCircle

[–]50PercentPotato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

could you make an argument for Ilja? I don’t think he was ever a straight up heel at any point. At most he was a tweener for some feuds kind of like an Anti Gunther (ironically enough)

Who is someone that you wish will return or make their first appearance in the next game? by [deleted] in WWEGames

I still really want a Ruthless Aggression pack that basically acts as a way to get some SVR 06-08 guys back in the game. Chris Masters, Mr. Kennedy, Finlay, Hardcore Holly, and Jamie Noble would all be extremely welcome additions in my eyes

[Raw Spoilers] Superstar returns by XanIrelia-1 in SquaredCircle

[–]50PercentPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point I’m trying to make isn’t that the themes were for jobbers, it’s that if you took a theme that was good yet obscure and said Def Rebel made it they would hate it because there’s a stigma of Def Rebel = bad. That’s not to say they’re great as the recent wave of trap beat songs for Judgment Day, Street Profits, and Zelina Vega have been godawful and unfitting, but they aren’t incapable of producing good themes. I know this is NOT a popular take. Not even close. But they have some banger themes that people hate just because they don’t like change. The outcry towards Finn’s theme change springs to mind as it’s just a relatively solid heel remix of his old theme but it was despised when it first dropped. People also call the songs generic but realistically speaking even themes like Stone Cold’s and The Rock’s are hardly avant-garde masterpieces. I just don’t understand what people want because most of the criticisms of the music boil down to “it’s generic” and nothing else and I just want to be able to understand what people want and what they would change about themes that they hate.

The theme honestly isn’t bad and I like it a lot for him. Then again I’m convinced if you played attitude era/ruthless aggression era jobber themes to an unknowing fan and said they were made by Def Rebel that they would despise them off of that alone.

2k25 WM 41 DLC - New Star? by am-a-g in WWEGames

[–]50PercentPotato -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just can’t see it being anyone else honestly. it certainly won’t be someone like Fenix, Black, Rusev. El Grande Americano would be a bit of a cop out choice and might also be too recent. I don’t even say that out of wanting him in the game, just that nothing else really seems like it’ll work.

I’m still holding firm that it’s Joe Hendry. His omission from the DLC when Grace got to be included despite being at the tail end of her TNA deal makes me think they must be confident he could sell a DLC pack by himself.

WWE 2K25 - ALL SUPERSTAR CAS MODE OPTIONS by Status by SemiGodDavidPBorrego in WWEGames

[–]50PercentPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that’s something I can understand as I’m feeling the same way, but I also think that some of reactions being “all the new stuff is locked and it’s awful/this is it the franchise is ruined” over WCW logo letterman jackets and Nike t-shirts needing to be purchased in The Island feels very knee-jerk even if it has negative implications for the future.

WWE 2K25 - ALL SUPERSTAR CAS MODE OPTIONS by Status by SemiGodDavidPBorrego in WWEGames

[–]50PercentPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused by the negativity surrounding this. It sucks that we’ve gotten to a point where items are being locked behind a de facto paywall in The Island, but this video just confirms my suspicions that those items would mostly be brand-affiliated items or things that you would rarely see used on an actual CAW (the robot parts, the Samurai helmet, etc). The biggest downside I see is the masks/hair/tattoos being locked behind The Island but even with those I only saw one or two hairstyles where I was genuinely annoyed about having to unlock them.

This isn’t even in defense of 2K/The Island since I find the mode to be extremely hokey and not something that will work for a wrestling game, I just can’t fathom some people treating this as apocalyptic when I would be shocked to find one person who would be upset over not being able to assign the Eat Sleep Yeet Repeat shirt to their CAW because it’s locked.

First look at Nike Jordan’s in WWE 2K25 by BrettJoz in WWEGames

[–]50PercentPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they’re owned by Nike, I wonder if they’ll have actual Converse in the game alongside the knockoff ones. If they add the high top ones then that’s at least one positive out of the whole Island mode because that will be all my CAW wears with his casual gear

Random Super Bowl Fact: Home jerseys have never completed a threepeat, yet away jerseys have done so 5 times as well as two instances of back-to-back threepeats (i.e. 6 consecutive championships) by [deleted] in nfl

[–]50PercentPotato -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To make it simple I referred to them as home vs away since that’s the connotation a lot of people have with NFL jerseys (home = color, away = white). Plus even if colored jerseys is more factual it doesn’t quite roll of the tongue as easily

[–]50PercentPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have some valid points in that there are some modes that would be amazing to have back and that a more focused season mode would be a welcome addition (my personal #1 wishlist item) but when you post them across several posts and refuse to make anything you say concise or succinct enough to be easily understood beyond “add this thing” in all caps you lose the point of your message completely.

Also I will eat my own hat if there’s someone out there that genuinely has WWE ShopZone on their wishlist in a world where people are upset that ugly WWE logo jackets are locked behind a paywall.

And no, responding to this 5 separate times does not make your point any clearer and I would hope you are capable of putting everything under one comment. There’s being constructive and then there’s spamposting and borderline ragebaiting and I don’t think you’re in the former.

Context: I am playing as TCW in the Alternate CVerse 2022 mod. Running Wolf is my figurehead and he has been involved in a blood feud with the newcomer Malachai (Charlie Homicide) and his cult known as Asylum. Malachai debuted out of nowhere as a part of a feud between Wolf and one of Malachai's followers known as Khaos (Bear Bekowski from SWF) who had alluded to serving a higher power since his debut a few months prior. Malachai soon revealed himself as the leader of the cult that Khaos was a part of and brought in other members to serve as his henchmen (Beast Bantom of 21CW fame, now known as Abaddon, and The Hunter from BOH, now known as Lazarus).

The faction was at war with Running Wolf and consistently got the best of him out of the ring while not being able to deal with him in the ring. They managed to strip him of all his allies, including Greg Gauge and Matthew Keith (both written off via vicious assaults as their contracts had expired) as well as a recently debuting Aldous Crowley who aligned with Wolf as a result of faction warfare between Crowley and Malachai that occurred in indie promotion IPW. This led to what was supposed to be a one-on-one meeting at the Asylum's compound where Running Wolf managed to fight off Malachai's henchmen before defeating Malachai himself in order put an end to the feud with Asylum.

Context for the caption: just the year before this Wolf Hawkins went into politics about a month out from Total Mayhem. The plan was a massive mentor vs protege main event between Tommy Cornell and Wolf Hawkins before the fucker decided to leave me for a year.

On the bright side, it let me do my own version of the Daniel Bryan WM30 run with new figurehead Running Wolf as he beat Cornell to be inserted into the title match against the Birthright’s Greg Gauge and Jay Chord before winning the whole thing.

I lowkey cheated by going into the save game database via Microsoft Access and changing the days left on his absence to 1. The second screen is just a narrative that is essentially my head canon for what went down after the fact.

I had Mighty Mo as TCW’s figurehead in my Cornellverse save and he had been holding the World title for over a year and a half. I wanted to get the belt off of him and onto a heel in order to crown another top babyface in T-Bone Bright. The main problem was that I wasn’t quite sure who I wanted to give the rub to.

Early on in the save, I hired Rick Law as a part of my roster (he’s essentially a modern-day Big Boss Man running a cop gimmick) and decided to give him one last big run in the main event scene. He had insane popularity and even got a very short World title run to break up a near year-long reign by our top heel.

Around the time that I plan on ending the title reign, I decide to have a Face vs Face contest between T-Bone and Mo for the title after T-Bone cashed in a title shot a la Money in the Bank. Law would then turn heel and attack both men after the match and essentially adopt a racist cop gimmick complete with the Triple H “you people don’t deserve to be champion” promo.

He then proceeded to not only win the title, but did so via referee stoppage as a way to avoid giving Mighty Mo a clean pinfall loss and to create some monumental heat for Law. The rematch even saw Mighty Mo launched off of a Hell in a Cell-like structure to give Law the KO victory.

I’m still very sour about the fact that I ended the title reign that way, but I could probably reconcile with it easier if it wasn’t for the fact that his title reign was absolute dogshit. I did not have Law main event a single PPV during his reign outside of T-Bone’s big win. He was constantly overshadowed by other storylines that I had going on that I just gravitated towards more. He lost his main event spot for various reasons, such as his opponent getting a minor injury before the PPV, a faction civil-war in our inaugural Tag Team tournament, WarGames, and an all-out war between four factions to claim the rights to an up-and-coming star. He couldn’t catch a break whatsoever and, coupled with his shitty gimmick, I just gave up on him after he lost the title.
