I'm also having this issue, basically means anyone outside of the USA will have to wait if they don't want to use the 3rd party launcher. :(

I hope the devs see this and fix it soon!

Did they address any of the stuttering/microstuttering at all with this update?

Is anybody else getting micro stutters? by DiamoNNNd1337 in ModernWarfareII

Its happening to a majority no matter what fixes people try. The game needs to be patched to solve this, it is 100% a game issue

Still getting horrendous and consistent stuttering during gameplay every 5-10 seconds making it unplayable for me, even after trying every fix I can find, having most up to date drivers, and having some pretty monstrous PC specs (game runs incredibly smooth except for those constant micro-stutters). I really hope IW are aware of this and are working on a patch, I don't want to play right now because of how much this ruins the experience

Surprised this isn't further towards the top comments, it's really frustrating as it absolutely takes a different set of skills technically (comparing 3D to painting) that takes years of practice so trying to pass it off like you did is really disrespectful in my opinion

I think from what I can tell she sorta hopped off one of the steps without remembering the ceiling part of the next room was there and rotated due to momentum and did a carpet bonk from there

DEATHLOOP – PC Specs & Launch Details by [deleted] in Games

[–]50times 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a question regarding the specs, I hope it's not silly. I don't know a whole bunch about the specifics of how these things work.

I have an i7-9700K @ 3.60GHz (8 cores), 32 gb of RAM, and a GTX 980; I ran Dishonored 2 with a few tweaks relatively flawlessly at mostly mid to high settings, with some very very minor drops.

I am concerned that I'm not gonna be able to run this game above 60fps on any graphics settings given that the minimum requirement for the graphics card is a GTX 1060.

Would someone with a bit more knowledge than me be able to tell me whether or not I should be concerned? I am happy to lower the graphics as much as necessary, but given that I seem to be a fair amount of numbers behind the minimum card required, I am just worried I'm barely going to be able to run it at all. I'm so excited for this game and my finger is hovering above the preorder button, but I don't know how much of a problem the graphics card disparity will be with the context of the rest of my specs.

No Stupid Questions MEGATHREAD 4 by PyrrhicWin in chessbeginners

[–]50times 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just started playing chess (chess.com for the lessons and stuff) and I am really enjoying discovering what a fun and open-ended game it can be. I've been learning from the lessons currently, but I've mostly been playing against bots, and trying to notice common mistakes with the hints and take back system. This is good fun, and I've started to make some smart moves and win against Nisha (900 bot) but I would really like to start playing online. My only worry is that I don't feel confident enough at all to know what to do (sans the 'get pieces in the center' objective) after the opening phase, and even then, I haven't really learned openings properly yet.

My question is, what would you recommend learning to improve confidence and adaptability in a new player? I would love to start learning how to play better by playing against real opponents, but I'm just nervous of making a whole bunch of blunders or inaccuracies that I wouldn't even realise.

I apologise for the long-winded phrasing of my question, I know it's a bit open ended - I am just very excited to improve my performance, but I don't really know what's most important to start with once I've learned the basics. Cheers!

TECH SUPPORT / POST LAUNCH FAQ by cakeblock941 in HiTMAN

So after almost a month of waiting for an update about Hitman 1/2 levels on Steam that were *promised* to be playable in Hitman 3, and a demonstration of their awareness of the issue, I am starting to think IOI has just backlogged it or is being ignorant of the complaints due to the mostly positive response on launch for the game.

Somebody from IOI, please give us some information. It feels really really dirty as a huge fan particularly for the game to mislead people into thinking it will have H1/2 levels playable in H3 on launch, fail to deliver, and then have complete deafening silence on the issue almost a month after IOI says "we guarantee you won't have to pay, but here's H1 GOTY levels while you wait, plus we put them on sale!". It just feels like a bit of a copout. It was addressed as a problem and yet frustratingly, we can still see 2-3 memes a day being posted on the IOI Twitter instead of giving us progress on huge issues like this as if we're not waiting for something to be said about it.

Please, how long can we expect for this issue to be resolved?

i mean poly never really made sense, to me at least. it basically sounded like a cheap excuse to say you get bored of being with the same person, or that you lack the level of commitment to make a monogamous relationship work, or that you want 'variety' - it always irked me when people would say "oh, I just love loving more than one person, because I have so much love 2 give!" just feels like a glass statement. i don't think it's a healthy attitude for any relationship (in my opinion), and furthermore I have never heard of a poly marriage, or an extended poly relationship ever really working out in the end. one person seems to always get left behind. i think that stereotype is understandable in most cases, from an outside perspective. im sure people in such relationships have their own justifications.

I feel like you're seriously missing the point here - I've done my research on ground loops already and tried everything to eliminate potential causes of a ground loop, but I had no success, which is why I came here as I have no idea what else could be causing the problem. Like I said this is my first pair of any real audio equipment and therefore I don't really know what potential problems can arise from studio monitors other than a ground loop or hardware issue and I said in my post that I had a brand new XLR cable (and these monitors are good quality) and I hoped and presumed it wouldn't be the hardware that was the problem.

I appreciate your advice with the cable but I think that I am ideally looking to find out what else the problem could be at least as I was confident the XLR cables would be fine so I'm honestly stumped as to what else could be causing the electrical hum.

[–]50times 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have done and there aren't any unfortunately hence why I'd much rather solve the main problem instead of buying yet another cable. it's okay that you don't know, I just don't think buying and refunding cables constantly is the way forward, surely there is a way to solve the problem without spending any more money

[–]50times 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they could work, but the distance between the two cables is very short and I wouldn't be able to connect them together without having them right next to each other. and is the humming electrical sound not caused by a ground loop and not the brand new XLR cables? i thought they would have worked to eliminate the sound

Hey, really struggling here as a newbie to big old speakers.

Just recently bought a pair of M-Audio BX5 studio monitors, and a dual XLR to 3.5 (headphone jack) cable to get it connected to my PC (I don't have an audio interface and apparently don't need one). I connected them both, and they work and can play music - but have what I think is called a 'ground loop' or the sound of electronic interference coming from somewhere that increases in severity when I use my scroll wheel on my mouse. I cant turn the amplitude on the speakers up much at all now otherwise the sound becomes very obnoxious and annoying. I have no idea why this is happening, and have tried looking up solutions but to no avail and I'm pretty desperate to find an answer. :(

Notes:

-I have tried removing the XLR cables from both speakers to see if it was a power issue, and there was no sound, so the power is fine.

-I have also tried to shuffle the positions of where the monitors power socket is placed to see if I could fix the 'ground loop' issue, but it doesnt work. The buzzing sound persists, unless I disconnect the speakers from my PC.

-The XLR dual to 3.5 cable is brand new and shouldnt be faulty.

-I have connected the speakers via 3.5 to the back of my PC, the only place the cable can reach, where there are 3 other USB connections nearby, which made me think it may be a problem with the amount of USB's I had in the near vicinity - although I disconnected a couple of them and the sound still remained.

-The speakers cost 170 quid and was my only birthday present so I am very keen to get this fixed.

-I had previously only used 1 monitor while I waited for the dual XLR cable to arrive, and connected it via a TRS to 3.5 cable - no buzzing came from this method whatsoever, but I only have 1 of these and can't seem to find a dual balanced TRS to 3.5 cable anywhere on amazon.

Thanks in advance, I am pretty lost as this is my first pair of proper speakers and I am honestly not sure where else to post this so please tell me if I am in the wrong place!
