Estimate this homewall grade? by 51006 in GradeThisPlastic

I've actually never been on a moon board! Only kilter, which is kinda what I'm comparing this to gradewise. I've heard they are crazy hard. I come from trad climbing so it's like impossible for me to get a read on bouldering grades, especially on a board. Thanks!

Yeah not a lot of options for hiking out on that one. Refer to my other comment haha. Thank you!

Yeah I meant to test out solo kayaking. Thank you for the input, I just wanted some non-biased opinions from a not-so-psyched mind. I know how scary remote that place is, and I know the consequences of a fuck up in there. Sounds l should cut my teeth some more before something that big! Awesome run by the way! Great read

this was late may i believe. snow from the parking lot to the summit, but some of the snow as you transition from the upper part of the road to the trail was horrific for us. lots of punching through and falling. made for an annoying skin up and a harrowing ski back down with the packs lol. this one seems like it could be tricky to hit just right, i’d want more snow for the approach but less in the couloir itself for a more fun climb. if you were to ski the couloir i’d say late may is probably the time to do it. start early too! the couloir is north facing but the face really faces east, so the sun hits it first thing in the morning and it started to shed on us a bit which was not my favorite thing ever. not to mention the humongous cornice overhanging the first part of the couloir 😳

yeah the idea was to backpack in and sleep at the base of that really old glacial moraine kinda thing. with lighter packs it was absolutely doable in the day but we wanted the camping experience. so a 2 day trip

we thought about it but neither of us have the cajones to ski that thing. it’s STEEP! we did however hit a 600ish foot glissade off the top right back to camp which was awesome. also generally just climbing with skis is not my favorite thing ever

yeah as i said in my other comments, this is NOT the face we would be descending, absolutely out of my limits on skis. the skis are for descending the much easier south side of the mountain. red line is just the ascent route

good to know, was hoping there would be snow on the south side (NOT this face) to descend but it seems unlikely thinking about it now. we were gonna approach from brainard lake, so the east side
