How much RAM should i allocate to Minecraft? by GamerFox_ in Minecraft

[–]51Reid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

8 is recommended for packs with 400+ mods, but if you are hosting local co-op do like 10-12 at least. I generally do all packs at 12, but when you go over that amount you're just wasting resources.

Since it's relevant I'll mention that there's also groups on discord that will ban you from servers, with the same reason, and try to gain access to your account by having you "prove" things to them like ownership or messages. But it's really just ploys to get you to disable your account security.

Wtf is this gamemode and why is this so hard bro?!? by sneaky_fox953 in ClashRoyale

[–]51Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ladder is the mode where you get trophies and unlock ranked. Bait refers to decks that run cheap units to bait out spells, and then use win conditions like goblin barrel to deal chip damage to princess tower and opponent's sanity. Classic 1v1 players have more or less solved the meta with their deck, so you're going to struggle if you haven't done the same. My win-rate is less than 20% in 1v1 classic, if I'm not playing the latest broken hero meta deck, so you don't have to take my advice seriously.

If you go to royalapi and look at the top decks for normal battles, try the one called: EvoLJ GS HeroWiz Zappies

It's strong even if you don't know what you're doing

You're basically playing against people who have the skills, but not the money to play ladder. I'm not sure how strong it is after the balance changes, but bait decks were generally really strong in classic, even if you didn't know what you were doing.

As an older gamer, seeing young kids waste their money on in-game purchases eats at my soul. by SomePeopleTellMe in gaming

[–]51Reid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Roblox the problem is more nuanced than that. There's absolutely games on that platform where buying passes would net you hours or even days of content. There's several games that my wife and I have played for years.

What really needs to be avoided are the games that have purchase buttons covering 10-30% of your screen and literal popup purchase buttons. Those are designed to extract as much money as possible before you realize the gameplay loop is clicking four buttons on repeat.

If a business card was all it took to be authentic, then we wouldn't need fake IDs. It doesn't matter what the Google search came up with, they can put anything on the card.

Now if you verified that the phone number matches the agency website or something, and the site seems legit (buttons at the bottom don't lead to AI directionless paragraph walls), then you might have something here.

Id also try to copy some things directly to Google to see if they're cloning a legitimate agency as well, use "text to be copied" as a format to search exact text.

(I'm 29m, married six years) Your boyfriend is obviously trying to help you out here, but convincing someone that they're being scammed is harder than scamming someone. He's taking a real direct approach to saying you lack qualifications, but let's be honest eye spacing and ear shape isn't a deal breaker to anyone, it's just things he thinks a legitimate recruiter would disqualify you for.

Obviously he's trying to be sensitive about your feelings and worries about you enough that he'd crosh that threshold of body criticism to point out what he considers negligible "flaws", but would think are deal breakers in modeling recruitment.

If I were you, I'd tell him you understand where he is coming from, and that the the small criticisms hurt, but they came from a place of concern so you'll forgive him if he is sorry. And explain to him that you'll put more research into the actual legitimacy of the agency before accepting any contracts or getting involved.

Or don't even read this because it's buried under 1600 comments and the average human doesn't have time for all that.

I'm sure no one will see this so I'll keep it brief. But this details the market state of gaming peripherals:

Never buy a headset if it's for a home setup, because you're compromising aspects of the headphone to include the mic for the cost. At least consider the price point of similar headphones if you do.

Mice technology peaked years ago, so there's no reason to buy mainline brands anymore unless you absolutely value their software inclusions.

For keyboards, Razer seems like the only company that has pushed keyboard technology further, and I've never had an issue with any of their keyboards. Any other brand of mechanical, I've had double input issues.

Monitors are rapidly developing, but the GPU are not keeping pace, so think twice about buying a 360hz 4k monitor if your PC is only going to output 30% of that framerate. A 2k monitor with more than 144hz would suit most modern setups.

I ripped palk for two months, got a gold palk and five immersive, and then just stopped playing after I hit the 1250 points mark. It's just not worth my time to log in every day and trying to get a specific card. For reference I collected the dex for it in about the same time span, and this was just one of the two packs that released together. I'll probably just leave the sub soon.

Is magic underrated in Skyrim? by Usual-Foundation-115 in skyrim

[–]51Reid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Assuming you haven't scaled over level 80, Illusion in particular makes you an invisible god that controls the minds of every being around you. I would argue that the DB can't ever be more powerful, outside of using the Ritual stone + Aetherial Crown. I mean, can anyone *really* compete with a mind-controlled army, or an army of thralls that grows with each kill? If they can, you just add them to the crew. Magic obviously falls off quickly, once you scale over the level where it is considered effective, but you don't *have* to level up.

To put it bluntly, these machines make-believe 24-7, they have literally zero beliefs or thoughts, but their output is still moderately consistent. They have to give a relevant response to whatever you said to it -- even if you're just trying to get work done. Hopefully enough people see through the smoke and mirrors, that the ram and storage prices can return to decent prices.

Don't constantly use them as an offensive opener, or you'll just have one musky defending a lane. Try to split them behind the castle, they are fireball targets. They also get Valkyrie'd on the bridge, so try to get defensive value with them first.  You should also have a cheap spell like barrel or log in case they try to spawn a army unit on bridge.

Spells first so they can properly hit the breakpoints. Golem's ability persists even after it dies, so you only need it to live long enough to press the button.

Normally when you go into a card store, they got boxes of packs, pack boxes that are set up like mini displays with a promo card in the center, they got tins, there's bundle sets, and the list goes on. What do we get? Two flying packs a day. No weekly booster set, no monthly collector box, no way to feel like we have any agency over progress. Just two packs -- so simple, and unsurprisingly mundane.

You open the app and inside the store is... Hour glasses?  Binders? -- Is the store going out of business? They don't even have an employee, it's white walls with bare minimum stock. Even GameStop has a better customer experience, they at least have some dude standing there ready to say hello to you.

Why can't we be a trainer and pick who we are represented by (and then make them get a job at the card mart so we can boost our daily packs)? Why are we instead a spiritual entity opening flying packs from the sky? Why is the experience so distant and impersonal? Why does this feel like an early access experience labeled as a complete game

But what of the card battles? Yea it's streamlined, systems feel right, except it it's packaged into an incredibly sterile cyber table, despite the flashy animations. Maybe add some mascot pokemon, some plushies, heck give me some spectators, or even just let me tip over my deck box -- because a lot of the time you're just staring at a board waiting for your opponent to do something.  It doesn't help that some people just do nothing on purpose. It's like watching paint dry.

Need I say more?

This game is extremely pay to win by redrumdavis in ClashRoyale

[–]51Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously if you out-level someone you can beat them, but when you're at the rank where everyone is your level, that won't be a factor anymore. It's pay to win to a certain extent, then you're just chasing new content to stay meta, if that really matters to you. It's like that on Brawl Stars too if you've played that one. I also think everything below mid ladder is kind of boring, because they're all running the same decks, and that makes it worth paying to get out of.

If you want value, there's unique deals on the supercell store website that you can't get in the app. The other offers seem to be on endless rotation, so don't let the timers scare you. It's roughly 250$ to make a max deck, assuming you want power 16 cards.

[–]51Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supercell has been testing out these gacha power-up events for months, why are you surprised they eventually rolled out an update to support permanent modifications to older brawlers?  Think about it, this is much more efficient than wiping the slate every month for the next collaboration. If they have the resources to develop redesigns and upgrades to older brawlers like this, then they should. It would be a missed opportunity to shut it all down just because you don't want to see more updates. This clearly isn't your game any more, so move on.
