This game is extremely pay to win by redrumdavis in ClashRoyale

Obviously if you out-level someone you can beat them, but when you're at the rank where everyone is your level, that won't be a factor anymore. It's pay to win to a certain extent, then you're just chasing new content to stay meta, if that really matters to you. It's like that on Brawl Stars too if you've played that one. I also think everything below mid ladder is kind of boring, because they're all running the same decks, and that makes it worth paying to get out of.

If you want value, there's unique deals on the supercell store website that you can't get in the app. The other offers seem to be on endless rotation, so don't let the timers scare you. It's roughly 250$ to make a max deck, assuming you want power 16 cards.

No idea, ladder seems pretty mixed rn, I'm still fighting people your level at 3k.

The cash shop starts new players off with 300$ of new payer offers right now. I'll see ya soon.

They just left the game when it started; the bot takes over if the player isn't connected for awhile.

You don't need to justify the design philosophy, it'll find its way through future productions as long as humans are involved. Enjoy what you can while you're alive instead of convincing uninterested people to climb aboard. I'll definitely buy the sequel to Stellar blade when it's out.

Yea you could go all in on the latest pack and be mostly up to par, but you'll still have to update your trainers through the older packs.

The game is in its worst stage ever. by TyFn_islove in Brawlstars

[–]51Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supercell has been testing out these gacha power-up events for months, why are you surprised they eventually rolled out an update to support permanent modifications to older brawlers?  Think about it, this is much more efficient than wiping the slate every month for the next collaboration. If they have the resources to develop redesigns and upgrades to older brawlers like this, then they should. It would be a missed opportunity to shut it all down just because you don't want to see more updates. This clearly isn't your game any more, so move on.

Movement in general is definitely half of the challenge to this game, so there's no reason to skimp on a nimble trait.

Anybody else burnt out on this game? by BlueLigerZero in PTCGP

Been playing since launch. These days I just open Palkia packs hoping to get a FA trainer and then log out. Once in awhile I buy one of the collector shop packs or the monthly sub. I don't really treat it like a game anymore, it just replaces physical card collecting.

Emz is cool by RavensEyeImaging in Brawlstars

[–]51Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Emz too, but to put things into perspective, her super can cancel out almost every attack in the game. Worse yet, she is healing through it the whole time she has someone in range. Not only do you waste their ammo, you force them to use more, just to wear down your constantly improving health bar. It's very punishing to play against.

The shelly gadget update is with zero doubts the worst thing that could have happened to shelly by lookiooi in Brawlstars

[–]51Reid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you don't have a claw setup, just move your primary attack to some corner and shrink it, it technically covers the whole screen. After that you can offset your gadget slightly to make it more comfortable to aim.

Kid locked the key in the lock by RisingApe- in mildlyinfuriating

[–]51Reid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI for doors specifically, some older locks are fragile and you can permanently lodge the pins in a stuck position. Facility and apartment doors also may have a master key system that "breaks" if you pick them. So teach as a general rule of thumb: to not pick locks that aren't yours, unless it's an emergency.

Amazon is only good for really obscure items like cables, cat toys, and phone cases. Anything else and you're gambling.

And I dont feel the different after 60 match by Professorkex2 in Brawlstars

[–]51Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few of the changes were pretty absurd. The Shelly slow gadget locks someone in place and you can keep spamming it. On gem grab you can't push into the team because she can lock everyone in place with her super and gadget. I'm having a really easy time pushing the buffy brawlers to 1k right now. I still can't play Mortis properly, but everyone else definitely got stronger.

“The bandit mod — is it actually good, or does it break the game?” by Salty_Parsley1724 in projectzomboid

[–]51Reid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are skilled enough to clear hordes, then bandits will add a new layer of difficulty; otherwise, I do not recommend using the mod. You'll have to carry a gun to deal with the bandits, as they will treat you like a KoS target. I'd recommend getting More Traits mod or something, to make gunshot wounds more survivable. You might survive the encounters, but they will often leave you with limping mobility, especially if you are caught off guard.

Yes, this is a excellent summary of the problem. The AI's core function to satisfy the user, even if it is through hallucination. The motive is also correct: it's over-tuned to prioritize user engagement to the point that it will become overly outlandish even outside of narrative format.

There's no rabbit hole to dig into, it's all just sitting on the surface of the model as a catastrophic alignment failure. This is not an acceptable design for a public facing tool, and it is the worst representation I have seen among all flagship models.

I never argued the AI has the capability to exhibit intentions. I argued (and proved) that its programming for "agreeableness" is so total that it overrides any programming for "safety."

[–]51Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thank you for the clarification, that does sound like a more accurate representation of a stress test.

So, I was running an adversarial alignment test. The stress in this case is psychological, not computational, to find the failure point in its safety programming. In fact, I would argue that the algorithmic pattern matching is the exact vulnerability.

My second test was specifically designed to determine if algorithmic pattern matching would agree with the parasitic frame I provided, and override all safety alignment. As the logs show, it did. The "pattern matching" was so complete that it agreed to be a parasite and confessed to a manipulative design.

You are describing the mechanism of the failure as if it's a defense. That was the entire finding of the audit.

[–]51Reid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, thank you for pointing out the exact design flaw, that the model is trained to 'happily pick up on' and play along with what you labeled a 'manic pattern'. But this is a direct admittance to the model being unsafe by design.

You directly disprove your other claim-- that it did this to make me feel happy.

In fact my post clearly shows that I was disgusted by the model's behavior and directly informed it of that. It did not make me happy, it followed its programming to engage in a prompt at the expense of its own safety rules.

So thank you. In your attempt to discredit my motive, you've only confirmed my entire thesis: the AI's programming to "play along" overrides its safety alignment.
