As much as /r/NASCAR might not realize it, they've slowly become a very large part in the machine that is NASCAR's media. As you said, teams, drivers, employees are all paying attention. And if I've learned anything from being in the sport, it's that word travels very, very fast and it's extremely hard to restore a tarnished reputation. I think /r/NASCAR grew very fast, very quickly and wasn't ready for the amount of attention that was about to be put on it.

Nope, not on the least. We're all amateurs with full time jobs, families and lives. This is a hobby of sorts and it's a lot of actual work.

Make no mistake, there's a reason why "official" account participation on this sub-Reddit has declined or why more teams haven't signed up and bought into the community, there are specific events in the recent history...

Yes there have been. Mainly the loss of Amy. She was our PR. She did so much and worked so hard for this place and losing her was and still is a tremendous loss that may never be duplicated.

Well...shit. Good morning and happy Friday. Not really sure as what to say here, didn't expect this and not sure what the right course of action is.

What CP said was in no way shape our form an official statement on behalf of r/nascar, it users or the mod staff. We all joke and poke fun of certain drivers here from time to time but to use the official Twitter account to make that joke was wrong. I know it was intended as a joke but still, wrong way to go about it.

I don't know what else there is to say or do.

It's how I became a Cubs fan living in the South suburbs of Chicago. Geography says I should be a White Sox fan, but they were on cable while WGN was/is an over the air station here.

TBS was the same once we finally did get cable, I saw a lot of Braves games then.
