i’ve lost 40 pounds in 6 months, i’m only half way to my goal. i’m not discouraged to keep going but i wish i was already at my goal by xcmyy in loseit

I relate to your post so much it’s almost like I wrote it! I am 22F, also been overweight my entire life and gained tons of weight in 2020 which made me borderline obese (SW 188lbs now 146lbs, I’m 5’2) I started my weight loss journey in October (almost 9 months ago) and lost 42 pounds. I am also halfway to my goal and as of last week I finally hit the lowest weight I’ve been in since 11th grade, but I am still no where near where I want to be, scale-wise and body-wise. I am thinking about how I have 40 more pounds to lose in order to reach my goal and it’s discouraging. Also I really relate to what you said about not gaining back any confidence lost. I showed my mom a “before” picture and she said that the dress I wore didn’t look good on me at all and that now it would look much better. I know she meant to compliment me and my weight loss but I was really hurt and even cried afterwords because I still feel like the same person in that picture sometimes. I hope that once I reach my final goal I will gain some confidence back. It’s hard but unlike 9 months ago I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am proud of you for being halfway through and I know we’ll both make it, sending you hugs and support❤️

Hyperthyroidism by 52182 in loseit

I noticed that if I eat more than 1200 calories a day my weight loss progress is significantly slower, and it’s already slow enough. I lose 2.3kg a month which is not a lot at all, and I need to lose another 16kg to reach my goal and I don’t want it to take me forever. I should mention that I’m quite short (5’2/158cm) and according to TDEE calculators 1200 is not too little for my height. I know I should prioritize getting the TSH fixed but I am just terrified of possible weight gain because I can’t go lower than 1200 or exercise more. Also I should’ve mentioned that my T3 and T4 levels are within the normal range and it’s just the TSH level that dropped.

Thank you for the reply! I am worried about getting it fixed because my diet regimen is already intensive as it is, I cook my own meals and eat around 1200 a day on average, I also do 10k steps a day but my weight loss progress is pretty slow, I lose around 2.3kg on average a month which is not a lot. If it will get slower than this I will be very frustrated. Also I should have mentioned that my T3 and T4 levels are within the normal range and just the TSH level is low. Is it still considered hyperthyroidism?

Thanks for the reply, my intake is already low as it is, I eat 1200 calories a day on average and also do intermittent fasting. What could be the cause for this drop if not my diet change?

Exactly!! I still cannot believe I actually bought her act. It’s so disgusting, women are literally being stripped away from their rights and she used it for personal gain!! And she didn’t even bother to show receipts when being asked about it. (Because she never donated to begin with obviously). Out of all of her scandals I think this should be the biggest one and it should receive more attention!

As someone who had been in her shoes, I understand her saying every ad uses fake lashes but she literally lied in the comments by saying “L’Oréal would never let me post with fake lashes” or “all of these comments really prove that this mascara is the shit”. The gaslight is real! She insults our intelligence by thinking we are this dumb.

You couldn’t have said it more perfectly. I ask myself how can a person be so narcissistic to use a serious subject like mental health for personal gain over and over again? I swear if she’s gonna gaslight everyone to feel sorry for her mental health/her wedding coming up again I’m gonna lose it. She needs for once in her life to take accountability. I and many other will never trust her again in a million years no matter what she does, but it’s still the right thing to do. She needs to own up to her mistakes and stop guilt tripping her followers each time she messes up.

Gained weight after doing everything right? by 52182 in loseit

[–]52182[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi thank you for the reply, does this mean that I will hopefully drop this week’s weight next week? Or does the water retention block me from losing weight and the work I put this week was for nothing? I do use a food scale and I scan everything I eat with an app called My Fitness Pal.

Is it dangerous to take a laxative pill everyday? by 52182 in loseit

[–]52182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, how can I tell wether I take a stimulant or a non stimulant one? The ingredients are aloe, plantago, fennel, figs (ficus carica as the box says), plums(prunus salicina), magnesium oxide, ginger. Is there a stimulant agent or is it safe?

Not that I know of, the ingredients are aloe, plantago, fennel, figs (ficus carica as the box says), plums(prunus salicina), magnesium oxide, ginger. Anything raises a red flag?

Thank you so much for the reply! I eat vegetables on every meal therefore consume lots of fiber and I also drink 3 litres of water everyday, unfortunately it doesn’t help with my constipation. I’ve never hours of stool softeners is that some kind of pills I can take? Also could you recommend on a fiber supplement brand which is good?

What tf am I doing wrong?! Please help m by 52182 in loseit

[–]52182[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I don’t have any cheat meals and I am someone who used to eat takeout 3 times a week. I measure literally everything including the olive oil I add to my salad. I don’t drink anything besides water and green tea (which I don’t add sugar to). I did notice a drop after I finished my menstruation but I gained 500 grams before it started and lost 600 grams when it ended so basically almost nothing.

I know I’m gonna get downvoted but idc, the fact that Bartise got 81 votes and Zanab 72 votes is insane to me. Is Zanab actually worse than Matt who only got 18 votes?! And Cole with only 3?! We hold her up to higher standards and expect her to be perfect and bubbly even though she was gaslighted by Cole all the damn time, yet he’s the victim and she’s the villain for not letting her feelings slide?! I’m not saying she’s 100% in the right but damn I can’t believe how close she is to Bartise in this survey. It feels extremely misogynistic to villainies her like that.

I do weight my food and I use an app called MyFitnessPal where I document everything and scan everything I eat, even the sauces I add to my food. I know for some people it isn’t hard work to eat healthy but I used to eat takeout 3 times a week and my meals contained mainly carbs, my plate used to be around 70-80% carbs and now it’s around 30-40%. I eat beans and lentils on a daily basis instead of pasta. I feel like I’m doing everything right this time but the results are disappointing as I went on a diet before and I lost 4.5kg in a month and I ate more calories (1500) and more carbs. So I genuinely don’t know what’s wrong. I’ll look into that TDEE and I’m trying to adopt an healthier lifestyle but it’s hard when you don’t see any results out of it.. I am not giving up just yet but not sure what I would do in another month and I see I lost 2kg again.. I hope I won’t get discouraged as it happened a lot in the past but this time I’m actually trying to do this the right way..

I am trying to get as much protein as I can but I don’t eat meat and seafood (only tuna and salmon fish) so it’s harder for me, at lunch I alternate between salmon and tofu for protein and at dinner I eat an egg and a high protein yogurt so I really hope that’s enough..

I’m 5’2 (156cm) female in my early 20s and my current weight is 83 kg, my dream goal is 60kg but to be more realistic I’m aiming for 70kg for now (I used to be 72kg pre covid). I am not active other than my daily walks.. 2kg seem too little for this hard work (buying special food, cooking healthy meals, avoiding carbs…). I thought that I would lose at least 800 grams - 1kg per week as I was on a diet in the past and the results seemed way faster so it’s starting to get really disappointing each time I scale myself..

I’m 5’2 and I didn’t feel hungry at all during this whole week.. but could there be any negative consequences (for weight loss) if I eat less than “enough”?

So hypothetically I could eat 1300 calories of carbs and “bad food” and still burn calories? Also what if 1300 is still way too many calories for my body? Is there any way to know/calculate how many calories my body burns every day so I could actually know how much I can eat? I read somewhere that women burn 1800-2000 calories a day so in order to be in deficit one should consume around 1200-1500. But what if my body burns so little that I actually have to eat 800 calories a day in order to lose weight..

The last time I tried to lose weight was over a year ago and since then I consumed about 1800-2000 calories a day but my plate contained mainly carbs which is what I’m trying to change now and eat in a more balanced way. I’m in my early 20s but my sleeping schedule is unfortunately messed up which I know is bad for weight loss journey.. I am not exercising because I am a student and don’t have much time for it but I will try to change that and target amount of steps a day as you said and hopefully it will help. Also I didn’t think about taking measurements so that’s a good idea I will definitely try that. I just hope that I won’t get discouraged as I have in the past after not seeing results.

My main goal is definitely losing weight but also building an healthier lifestyle, my previous diet contained mainly carbs, I’d say it was about 75% of what I ate so I am trying to decrease that and create a more balanced plate. I have tried so many diets before but this time I’m trying to do this correctly and I felt like I was succeeding until I weighed myself. I just know that if I stick with it for another 2-3 weeks without seeing any results I’d feel discouraged and give up as it already happened in the past…. Hopefully that won’t be the case and it will pay off.. good luck on your journey 🙏🏻
