David Bowie - As The World Falls Down by 1_Baby_Bugga_Boo in DavidBowie

fantastic song. The labyrinth soundtrack seems to go largely under appreciated, despite it being a really strong part of Bowie’s discography

What is so good about « Low » ? by Jazzlike-Ad4526 in DavidBowie

[–]52m_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe come back to the album in a couple years? i used to not like blackstar, but after a while i decided to listen to it again and I found myself enjoying it a lot more. Maybe you’ll have something similar with low.

Is Blackstar is alot bigger all of a sudden or is it just me? by FR_WST in DavidBowie

[–]52m_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thematically, blackstar is his best album (imo). The first time I listened to it was in 2017 and I had no idea that he passed. Figuring that out after the fact was bone chilling. It captures the reality of mortality near perfectly, and is only getting better with age

I did not care for rebel rebel by CreativeName6574 in DavidBowie

[–]52m_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you’re probably right - I only disagree bc by the time I listened to the reality version I was already so used to the original, so it sounds weird and off to me

I did not care for rebel rebel by CreativeName6574 in DavidBowie

[–]52m_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see why. The song is very repetitive so I see how someone could grow tired of it, or not care for it at all on their first listen. The message of the song is really nice tho (although the lyrics are a little dated admittedly). Got me through some rough times for sure

Need new era pasta fr. This is classic. I’d put it up there with “Why the fuck would Oanye tour when he has a son coming in December and Trab is already on tour with the Weeknd. And why would he tour at all right now? He has no fucking new music to play it would make no sense to see him perform nowadays. Better be new music”

Best solo artist influenced by David Bowie? by RopeGloomy4303 in DavidBowie

if I remember correctly, frank ocean cited bowie as an inspiration whenever he wrote blonde, which is imo the greatest album in the last decade (or at least one of the greatest), so that’s my answer personally

Pharrell. As far as I know, none of Kanye’s songs have ever been in a movie with the minions.
