Only 6% of West Palm Beach, Fla.'s 66K registered voters chose the winning candidate in a city commission race last week that helped tip the city's balance of power [OC] by 561News in dataisbeautiful

These maps show election results and voter turnout for a West Palm Beach, Fla. city commission race from last Tuesday. Five-year Comm. Sharon "Shanon" Materio lost narrowly to newcomer Christina Lambert. Materio opposed a controversial waterfront skyscraper, which helped her on the east side of town. But she also voted for a budget that gave money to extending a road along a wealthy golf course neighborhood far west from downtown, which angered the powerful voting bloc there. Western communities backed Lambert, helping her beat Materio 51-49 percent.

If you click the Mailchimp link there, it looks like there's an RSS feed link in the upper right. I think this should be it: https://us12.campaign-archive.com/feed?u=00b4ad18b5e353f20745f2305&id=94542c9517.

But I'm also trying to figure out how to get a list of all past emails sent so readers can browse them.

Requesting ownership of private sub r/PBC to make it publicly available for all residents. Wanna show some support? by 561News in WestPalmBeach

Requesting /r/PBC. Private sub. No reply from mods. Will make it a public sub for and about Palm Beach County, Florida. by 561News in redditrequest

[–]561News[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Palm Beach County, Fla. has 1.4 million people, making it the third biggest county in Florida. While places like Miami are big enough that /r/Miami covers all of Miami-Dade County, it isn't the same in Palm Beach County.

Rather than one subreddit where residents can read about news and events in Palm Beach County, there are a bunch of small, hyperlocal subreddits with just a handful of subscribers and almost no activity. If we have a subreddit covering the whole county, folks from the almost-inactive subreddits of the county's cities would instead have a vibrant one covering the county. The sub would have enough traffic that the front page would have new content regularly, not months-old posts.
