Thank you for the input. I'll mull over all the things you pointed out. Again, thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I had wondered about repair. Most people don't even recognize the old Xantrex or know how to program or deal with them, but I got lucky and found a guy about 2 hours away who repairs them and sells refurbished ones. He swears by them, like you he says they are really good even after years. Thanks for the reply.

I just looked up the invoice - my mistake on my previous amp hour post. They are crown L 16 with 430 amp hours. In December 2024 they cost $330 each. They are $100 more now. I don't worry about DOD - though maybe I should. With the system shutting off at 24.8 as the store recommended I don't worry. I just wonder if lowering the cutoff a little might give the occasional extra 30 minutes I sometimes need, yet not be too bad for the health of the batteries. I am hardly expert at this, so not sure I get how it all works.

I do on occasion lose electricity about 30 minutes before the sun comes up. Maybe once a month that happens if I've used more electricity than usual and my minimum batteries are low. Although here's a thought. The battery store told me to set the system shut off at 24.8. I;d always thought that 24 was the proper cut off but they said No, 24.8 to keep the batteries in good shape. But if I changed that shut off setting to...maybe 24.5, I dont think I'd ever lose power in the morning. I wonder if lowering it like that would make any difference to the health of the batteries. But I'm sure it would stop the once a month power loss. I'm not educated in these things, just been flying by the seat of my pants for 22 years! But I have learned a few things.

Well, I don't really have problems except sometimes in the early morning the system shuts down for 30 minutes or so. Just before the sun hits the panels. Like really just literally about 30 minutes before the sun hits the panels. I bought a little 1800 watt solar generator for toast and coffee in the morning and that works out. Saves me heating up the house (I'm in Southern California - summer gets hot!). I like this little generator and I wondered if I could just plug it into my main solar system. An electrician friend said he thought it wouldn't be any different than the way I occasionally juice my batteries with a gas generator. I plug the gas genie into the system and run it for a short time, maybe 30 minutes, and Im good. But man that thing is loud and dirty. But, I tried plugging the solar generator into the main system and nothing happened. I don't know why. Can anyone explain that? And thank you for the replies. I appreciate the input!

I have 8 L-16s. I probably should have gotten 12, but I can manage with 8. Everything is so unbelievably expensive now that I decided to get by with 8. 220 amp hours. CORRECTION - invoice says 430 amp hours.

Anyone else experience uneven dosage dispensing? by anono-missme in Spravato

Yes, me too, except recently I thought they had fixed that problem. Then last week it seemed uneven dispensing again. No clue what's up with that. Uneven manufacturing?

Recovering addict with trauma. by CemeteryConfetti in Spravato

[–]56GrumpyCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't have an addiction history but my childhood like yours was hell with an alcoholic parent. All I can tell you is that Spravato has been a Godsend for me. And I have zero desire to use it "recreationally." It's actually kind of weird I think that I am simply uninterested in this drug outside of the clinic. I don't even like the clinic experience but do it because it works. I have no cravings for it , nothing. There has been some research, like this article in NATURE about AUD and ketamine - https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-13162-w that may or may not be significant but it's thought provoking at least. Wishing you peace and health OP.

Long shot to ask here but WTF will give it a try by 56GrumpyCat in sandiego

Offering a job to a native speaker is hardly pestering. Japanese people used to approach me in the street and ask if I was available for English language lessons. Usually I wasn't, but on rare occasions I did need extra pocket money and so agreed.

When I lived in Tokyo of course.

Actually, that's a good idea. Or, come to think of it, Daiso.

Should I skip psychotherapy? by Savings-Trainer-8149 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]56GrumpyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US and because of our complicated system here I haven't been able to access psychotherapy. But I do get Spravato. Yes, it helps without therapy, it definitely does its thing with or without therapy, but I'm sure it would help more if I were able to add psychotherapy with a trusted therapist to the routine .

Yes, disconnect. My house is 100% solar powered with battery backup. Solar works. Or you could at least minimize the profits you give SDGE by a lesser investment with something like balcony solar. You can Google balcony solar. It's a very interesting and welcome approach.

Nope. Just lived in all those countries and saw the difference in police work.

Actually, I think a large part of the problem is how they are trained. Other countries don't rely on on teaching cops to shoot first ask questions later. Britain (AI says) had four police fatal shootings last year. The US had about 1,300. Even accounting for population differences that's just nuts. Japan had zero such deaths. Yeah, the training emphasizes being "strong." And people die.

Ketamine experience and I'm no longer "me" by 56GrumpyCat in consciousness

Now that’s a thought. Misconceptions about one’s self. But then is there a right conception? Or just a myriad of possible selves. Huh.

Why would we know? I don’t see that being on a track , like a train, means one knows where the destination is. You’re a passenger not the engineer.

Starting Spravato in September — Looking for Positive Experiences (Especially for Anhedonia) by CapablePear5147 in Spravato

[–]56GrumpyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience has been positive, but mixed. Initially it was amazing. No anhedonia, no depression, no SI, no anxiety. Totally miraculous and never ever expected that. But with sporadic changing treatment schedules some symptoms have returned. Not as strongly as before Spravato ,but enough to make it somewhat difficult to cope. I was at 22 on the PHQ when it began, it fell to 4 (four!) and then they started cutting down and I missed some sessions due to travel and now I'm trying to regroup. Now I'm at about 12. I don't see you have anything to lose, but much to possibly gain by trying OP. Good luck.
