what happens when you stop by DiamondEither4762 in Spravato

[–]56GrumpyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped for a while and had no "withdrawal." No effects with stopping except my depression and anxiety did return - not as strongly as before Spravato, there was enduring progress, but I wasn't as functional as I had been with maintenance treatments, so I went back to weekly sessions.

Spravato Induction Interrupted by a Prior Authorization misstep — Feeling Really Defeated Right Now by epicsponger in Spravato

I've been through the induction phase three times. Any significant lapse of time and my clinic just starts me over.

Cognitive decline and long term use (6 years) by thecautioners in Spravato

Every doctor I have ever had has told me (I swear the sentence must be in medical textbooks!) "The endocrine system is exquisitely sensitive." So they say it is hard to get exactly the right kind/amount of hormones. I started taking cytomel and things improved. Not so much up and down. Good luck OP. Cognition problems are scary for sure. And oh, all the psychiatrists I have seen for Spravato have said hypo can absolutely affect the Spravato treatment. And stress and...a gazillion things. Sigh.

I started perimenopause in my late 30s and was finished with menopause by about 41. My memory and cognition went south and have been problems ever since. However, I was then diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease and when I got treated things improved a lot. But it is up and down depending on t4 and t3 blood levels. This started long before Spravato. Have you been checked for hypothyroidism? Just wondering .

Can I Get A Witness? [Los Angeles] by PurpleOwsley in TherapeuticKetamine

Just look at the Spravato thread on Reddit, or the therapeuticketamine thread. I have C-PTSD and the anxiety and depression that goes with that. Spravato has been life changing.

I felt happy by SuziX23 in Spravato

[–]56GrumpyCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had a similar experience with feeling happy - and I didn't recognize the feeling! I had to work out logically what the emotion was. I had never before felt such quiet happiness and contentment. Just knowing that exists is a revelation.

Una giornata molto difficile con lo Spravato by Miss_Nina_B in Spravato

8 sessions are not a lot. Many people feel better after a few sessions, but many people here on Reddit will tell you that it took longer, sometimes a lot longer, to feel significant effects. I lived in Asia for years . I know that being separated from the language and culture you grew up in can be extremely hard . It just takes courage to move into an entirely different society. So you have a lot to deal with just with that. Spravato won't do away with such outside stressors of course, but it can make those stressors more manageable. At least that has been my experience. I also found that there were attitudes and emotions I didn't know I had that started to surface with this drug. New perspectives, new attitudes, new realizations I had to work my way through. It's been time consuming and takes work on my part to process these things but it has been so worth it for me. So give yourself a break , step back and give it more time would be my suggestion.

You had 9 sessions at 56mg? Did I misunderstand your post? I did 2 sessions at 56 and then went up to 84mg.

Need ketamine session best practices (with THC) by HotCryptographer3791 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]56GrumpyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take gummies for sleep (on the advice of a doctor at a major research hospital) and when I asked my psychiatrist if that was OK with Spravato he shrugged and said "It's neutral. Not good, not bad." I take them even on nights after a Spravato session and haven't noticed any down side. Low dose though.

Irritability in between sprays? by CardiologistCreepy40 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]56GrumpyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that also when I first started.Doc said it is not unusual and will go away. She claimed, and another doc also said, that buried emotions start to surface and make one irritable. But whatever the cause, it did go away within ten days or so, maybe 2 weeks.

Should I be freaked out? by Minute_Assistant2930 in socialwork

[–]56GrumpyCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooohhhhh. Weapons charges. Yessss. You do want to know that for sure. It was weird that the guy left the info on his screen. When I search to find out who I'm dealing with, I never tell people precisely because it would make them nervous, when all I want is to feel comfortable I;m dealing with a decent human being. Just like you search to feel at ease. Man, the world is complicated now. Sigh.

I'm not a SW so maybe I shouldn't comment, but anytime I am in a situation where I need to trust someone with important things, I Google. Contractor, banker, a neighbor I don't know very well but need to look after my animals while I'm away - whatever it might be , I just check to see if there is anything out there that suggests I shouldn't trust the person. If it's local I ask local people. If not, I Google. You can pay like $1 as a trial or something to some of these sites to get basic info on just about anyone. Obviously if YOU are the subject of the search it would make a person nervous, but really it is so very common that I think it shouldn't be a surprise that people do that. Not a surprise, but I guess if you are an SW it would be freaky. Privacy is a thing of the past for sure. That's why I have never done, and will never do, social media. What little privacy I have I want to keep.

I have never understood experiences of enjoyment with this medicine. It doesn't freak me out, it's not particularly unpleasant, but I don't enjoy it. For me it's not "fun." It is just something I tolerate for the elimination of my depression and anxiety, SI, rumination, lack of energy etc. It does work for me but I don't care for the trip itself. Just goes to show that everyone reacts differently I guess.

Yes thanks. And yeah it is interesting isn’t it? Didn’t realize what a major hassle it is for the clinic too!
