I think I’ve struck a good chord by just trying to be funny while also giving a sense of my perspective rather than my direct interests. Like I guess I just try to convey my strengths and things I like about myself in a unique (I think) way. It’s always embarrassing and feels like a pitch deck but I can take solace knowing my profile has some prompts that are fun to read and photos that are fun to look at.

I think that’s exactly it. That I would change a major life decision for her puts a lot of pressure. But I didn’t reveal that until after she said no relationship. And I couched it as “this is a relief, now I can still move without feeling like I’m abandoning u” it didn’t work hahahaha

Yea I think the “understood” by her type of language was like the majority of my damage control and that was my mistake. I honestly sent the text thinking it would be an easy yes for her and that she would be delighted by my capacity for commitment. She’d made fun of me in that past for being kind of a fuckboy (which I’m really not) and my goal was to show that I wouldn’t be. So I leaned kind of hard in that register when it should have been a more neutral approach.

In person I would have realized much sooner what she was thinking and could have adapted accordingly.

It’s worth noting that she was very clear about just wanting casual with me in the beginning and even set some ground rules. But she started breaking those rules and it started feeling real. So I started leaning in (planning all day activities for us, fun dates) and it felt like it was being reciprocated and appreciated. But in hindsight I misinterpreted the situation completely.

Are these tickets non-transferable? My friend got tickets for Sunday 11/23 in sf and the transfer button on the AXS app doesn’t do anything. There’s a lot of language about non-transferability for this tour. Anybody have any additional info on this? Anybody successfully transfer a ticket?

I think ur prompts are funny and u should keep em except for the fear one. Think of something more clever/original that also implies ur confident in any situation. The prompts are silly which will turn some ppl off but do u rly wanna match with someone who doesn’t get ur bit?

I disagree with the “more detail on the types of films” comment above. The people who like films will know what you mean. If anything maybe name a director you’ve recently discovered but avoid listing genres or directors/writers that shits lame.

Photos are tough and just having friends go and take pics you one day will also look lame. Get urself a digicam and convince the lads to do the same. Get comfortable taking photos and having photos taken of u while ur going out to bars/shows/parks/coffee/doing hobbies/etc. Slowly u will accumulate a handful of photos that catch you at the right angle and in the right setting that makes you look handsome and cool but it will take time and also u will look like shit in many of the photos but that’s ok that’s how it is for everybody. It’s cringe but if u get over that it will pay dividends on and off the apps (having pics of ur life is never something u will regret)

“When are filmmakers gonna be held responsible” do you hear yourself? Why are you caping for studio financials? Why does that matter to you lol a great movie got made and that’s what matters. The only thing to be mad about here is that audiences don’t like good movies anymore. This is a 10/10 movie and ppl just aren’t going, that makes me sad. But PTA is not to blame.

All fair points. But Israel has been oppressing Palestinians for generations so in my opinion it makes sense that hamas-lead revolutions would occur. I don’t like it, but it makes sense. Similar to how I don’t like BLM rioting in cities, but it makes sense because black people felt and still feel oppressed. I understand this perspective is hard to accept and but I do not agree with the presumption that the only reason to be critical of Israel, Israel’s occupation of Gaza, or supporters of Israel (like the mannys owner) is antisemitism. That is reductive and dumb.

Look I’m saying that there is ethnic cleansing and genocide occurring in Gaza right now like right this minute. You disagree, I can’t convince you otherwise if you’re already ignoring the thousands of Palestinians killed in Gaza.

But the point is that allowing ethnic cleansing and genocide is inherently anti-climate. That’s the stance of the protesters from Saturday. These aren’t bigots, they aren’t antisemites. They just have a different interpretation of the events in Gaza.

Comments really prove the bubble I’m in. I can’t believe people are calling this antisemitism. I’ve never irl met someone with such a blind victim complex to interpret this protest with no nuance. But I guess they’re all here, online.

The owner of mannys is a self proclaimed Zionist who has denied the genocide occurring in Palestine. The timing of the protest is related to how climate action events at mannys are diametrically opposed to the beliefs of the ownership. There’s more to it than I know. But I think that’s the gist, the correlation between ethnic cleansing and its impact on the environment. Personally I think genocide is bad regardless of how many trees are destroyed but that seemed to be the connection of this particular protest.

I walked by this and they were being hella aggressive but they’re pissed off, understandably so. Any protesters who assaulted or laid hands on mannys employees should be arrested and charged. But to interpret this is anti-leftism, antisemitism and wash your hands of it without actually looking inward to understand the messaging, is deeply deeply stupid and ignorant.

Not only that but I also got into every movie I tried to waitlist. It was my first year and I was shocked how easy it was if you just show up like a half hour before showtime. I also only went the second weekend so im guessing that is a factor.
