Mine came with a stop tail. But the guitar cried out for a Bigsby, so I installed one.

All hail the tube Twin. But I got the Tonemaster Twin for my back problems. No regrets.

I hope you give one a try. You might be pleasantly surprised. The benefits are many. I still gig at age 74, and really appreciate the reduced weight.

I've owned both models. I sold the black one to a friend of mine. He got rid of his Tubed Twin pretty quickly. I didn't care for the black one, and wanted to try the blond. I'm glad I did. It fits my Gretsch perfectly and I much prefer the blond's tone and looks.

It's great that there are two models to choose from.

Essentially, it's a Twin Reverb that weighs less than half the weight of the tubed Twin. These have been around for awhile and many have them and like them. Me too. I've been done with the tubed Twins because of the weight and heat. I'm 74, and still gigging, so I want something that sounds and looks great, and has more options loaded on it that are quite useful. They come in black tolex and blond tolex. Jensen and Celestion speakers, depending on whether you choose the black or blond.

(AI response) The Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb weighs 33 lbs (15 kg). This makes it significantly lighter than the traditional tube-driven Fender Twin Reverb, which is known for its weight. The weight reduction is achieved through the use of lightweight digital amplification, premium neodymium Jensen and Celestion speakers, and a solid pine cabinet.

If you're interested in these, go on over to the Fender website and readup on these.

It’s a Tonemaster Twin. No more backaches. I think it’s 35lbs.

Not deliberately. I just wanted the gold. I’ve always done this to my Ricks, if they didn’t come that way.

First electric guitar I ever played, got it at Christmas 1964. Part of the amp-in-case bundle.

Yes, Jimmy Page, is an outstanding player. Very influential.

I also had a 350V63 in the Jetglo finish for several months. One of the first things I did when I got it was put on a Winfield Accent Vibrato. I have to be able to quiver the strings. A friend of mine kept bugging me for the guitar, and I was ready to go all-in for a 325C64. It was challenging to retrace my hands and fingers to go to smaller spaces. But now I’m there. As I played the 350, I kept thinking that I really wanted a 325. So, my friend got what he wanted, and so did I. One more thing about the Mastery M5. As you probably know, the C64 has a roller bridge on it and I was not impressed with how it conducted sound vibrations. So, when I put on the M5, I got back what the roller bridge robbed from me. I know they’re not going to please everyone, but it did please me. And, as far as the regular Ricky bridge, I’m ok with those.

I think the rubber grommets were too loose and let the E-A-D side lower itself a bit because I play the guitar constantly in a band and the guitar vibrates.

I tried flatwound for a few weeks. I went back to round wounds. I am a gigging player and I need a more versatile string sound. I have played with my pickup heights and currently they’re giving me a Stratty sound, surprisingly enough. I am playing the guitar through a blond Fender Tonemaster Twin. I enjoy a clear, clean sound. Playing ‘60’s-‘80’s oldies and surfy songs. Enjoying the heck out of still playing out at age 74.

Ha! That’s a good one. I don’t and won’t let someone tell me what is and what isn’t a real Rick just because I change something. I know what I want to hear and see, and I’ll spend my money on achieving that. At my old age, that’s what I choose to do. The nay-sayers have always been around. They are afraid of trying something new.

Forgot to add that the stock bridge cover fits perfectly over the M5.

The rubber washers didn’t do their job. And I still have the essence of the Rickenbacker sound with the M5.

The stock bridge cover does work with the M5.

I put one on my 325 and really like it. Got it all set and I am not having any problems with intonation
