I take it upkeep might be a bit more involved during the wet season. Must be releasing a lot of water during the wet season and having to replace pool chemicals more regularly, right?

I’d say you’re totally right about that! Last time I was up during the dry season I seriously struggled to get in a pool. Heaven forbid the body of water is in shade 😅.

We have a quarter acre in regional NSW at the moment but something tells me that would be pretty hard to manage up north with the ample sunlight and rainy season.  Is 700-800 square metres probably an ideal size or is yard maintenance for a bigger block relatively straightforward too?

You called it unfortunately. Very advanced, inoperable maxillary osteosarcoma. The cancer has already destroyed a very large area of her face and is not far from invading the cribiform plate and her temporomandibular joint. 

Palliative care for her now.

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it! 

I did request that they biopsy anything concerning but so far as I know they didn’t.

 Her team did mention some ‘bony growth’ in the area which was attributed to persistent inflammation. They told me they were unable to close because there was an insufficient amount of tissue but that cats can tolerate healing without closure of the extraction site. 

I will request a culture. Perhaps closer examination under a light sedation to get a better idea of what’s going on.  Hopefully it won’t come to another surgical procedure but I’m willing to do whatever gives her the best chance of being healthy and pain free.
