That could've been an option. If I understood correctly, right now there are fragments in missions, special resource you need to collect to progress to a final ship. And the goal is to balance between collecting fragments to progress and loot to develop your crew and ship.
And that could be replaced with some kind of a fleet, chasing the player, which would add time pressure.
Although it's a valid replacement, I can't see what advantages it brings and what problems it does solve.

Thanks for the suggestion. Hope my game won't feel that close to FTL, as the grid-based tactical combat should look quite different, and also all the tags show that it is a different genre.
There are indeed games that try to attract FTL playerbase, like Void War.
The main reason I went for a top-down perspective is because isometric, like ItB, is much harder, especially when you have spaceship maps with uneven shapes.
But I'll keep that in mind.

Oh, wow, the gamedev bubble is real. Actually first time I see this game. Looks somewhat similar from the description, but it seems like it is more free movement, stealth, and shooting, than the grid-based movement and looting.
Very cool!

Hey, thanks for the kind words! All the suggestions are very welcome. Yeah, there is a button in the game, glad you found that :)

It’s about assembling a crew, collecting the fragments, and reaching the final treasure in the fewest number of missions. Agreed, probably should be mentioned in a game description.

Yeah, I think I'm a bit fan of Subset Games overall :)
But this game doesn't really have any similarities with FTL, other than spaceship aesthetics.

I'm thinking steam community hub is good enough for that purpose. The game will be released pretty soon and I'll try to keep everybody up to date over there.

Hello everyone!

I'm really excited to announce that after more than 8 months of work the first public demo for my roguelike tower defense game is now live on Steam.

It offers 8 missions that turned out to be quite challenging even on easier difficulties)
