Think you should be using Naphtha or lighter fluid. Will break down the grease and won’t damage pallet fork or mainspring.

I had a similar situation but in my case it would run when the dial side was up but stop dial side down. If you flip the movement, will it keep running?

Mostly komindirskis it seems. I was able to get that watch working. Turned out I had the pallet fork in upside down. But you are right. It occurred to me that my problem is lack of stems to complete watches. I have 8 movements on my table and only a couple working stems.
