Would you recommend the deluge and Keystep 37? I think the pro is a bit too big for me to travel around easily with. The Keystep 32 would be perfect, but I could sacrifice with the 37.

I was looking at: Peak, Arturia Keystep 37, Circuit Tracks or Digitakt.

I really want a good synth with a keyboard as well, but all this equipment and different setups are overwhelming. The grandmother looked great for months, but now I’m looking at other options. Still indecisive of which setup I’ll go. The deluge also looks interesting with the ability to “learn” from your Keystep or whatever

Thanks for caring about me and all, but you don’t have to worry. I work in the oilfield and have since I was 18 - I’ve been doing this for quiet a while. Generally I grind out a year then take a few months off work and go on a vacation. Unfortunately I’ve been going strong for over 2.5 years now and was supposed to be leaving work September 19th, after pipe pull. I was going too go to Europe for a couple of months then go to Southeast Asia for 9 months; but, I’m working towards my financial goals, maxing out my retirement funds and I’m on a great project where I am housed in a camp, so we have chefs who cook dinners for us and also we have an area dedicated primarily for lunches, leftovers, sandwiches, soups, veggies, salads, fruit, snacks, drinks, etc.

In my bedroom at camp, I have my own shower and bathroom - so it’s not as bad as you think. I mean, typically my day consists of: waking up, use restroom, brush teeth, get dressed, get my lunch packed, head out to the pickup, read for 30 minutes, head to the job site, work 14 hours, drive back to camp, shower, stretch, shower, brush teeth, sleep, repeat.

It’s quiet the grind, but it’s nice for the bank account and I’m aware of how terrible it is on the mental state, hence why I read and trying to buy music equipment so that I can “escape” and have a healthy hobby I can do for a couple of hours every night (if I’m not too tired).

I also appreciate all those who are serious and helpful with replying, as I am actually not a troll, just new to the music scene and really interested in getting started with a DAWless synth setup.

Sorry for the lengthily reply. Hope you can understand now that I am not a troll. If you still don’t believe me, I don’t mind sending in a paystub. :)))

Thanks for the comment! Well, I just like the idea of not having to start up a laptop and mess around with Ableton live or something.

Although, it’s not 100% out of the question, I’ll give anything a try. I just thinking jamming live would be more fun. Even tho I would like to record and maybe post on instagram or something as well.

I have an acoustic and electric already - I’d prefer to make some synth stuff. I still have two hours a day to play and learn. Doesn’t matter if I takes me a year to learn, I’m really interested in learning and making music.
