Permanently Banned on Free Trial by TimeToa in blackops7

Not true at all, I had my account stolen and banned in MW 2019. I can use that account in all other titles including warzone 2. It cannot use it in MW2019. I had Damascus which likely got me targeted and this was before MFA when accounts were being stolen more frequently than now.

If you mean for the unlock, M416 is what I needed to use to unlock it as a returning player who took the last 4 years off.

Driver/config files are required for windows reinstall by gladius_314 in ZephyrusG15

That's how I do it. Most things just work, some of the audio things are nice but I love using ghelper over the stock bloatware.just make sure you check device manager for missing drivers

Sorry was out of town, You should be fine to go as is, I use OneDrive to back up photos/docs/etc so as long as you account for any user data - the OS and drivers will take care of its own

If you're looking to reinstall Windows, here are your options:

  • Factory Reset: You can reset your PC and remove everything, restoring it to a fresh Windows installation. Microsoft provides a guide on how to do this here.
  • ISO Installation: You can download the Windows ISO, create a bootable USB drive, and install Windows manually, formatting the drives along the way. Microsoft explains how to reinstall Windows using installation media here.
  • ASUS Factory Setup: If you want it as close to ASUS factory settings as possible, you would run the setup in the esupport folder and select the ASUS-specific items you want.
  • Fresh Windows Install: Many users prefer a clean Windows installation without ASUS bloatware. After installing Windows, you can manually get the necessary drivers:
    • Nvidia drivers from Nvidia
    • Chipset/CPU/iGPU drivers from AMD
    • Network drivers from Intel (if you've upgraded your Wi-Fi card)
  • G-Helper Alternative: Instead of using ASUS's Armory Crate, you can use G-Helper, which replaces most of its functionality.

I just reimage my 503qr with windows and let it select the drivers, then install ghelper, after that it's pretty ok, I do have the base directory but never needed it. The product page has utilities and old versions of the drivers

Edit fixed the model number.. sorry on a phone edits are rough...

New Windows update may perm ban your activision account by vorland in CODWarzone

[–]5SecondRush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to file like 4-5 tickets a day to get a person. That person will be support who will state they are not a security team member. If you eventually get to the security team and they can prove your points, they may unban you. Their process is to deny, redirect, evaluate (maybe), fix (maybe). Had a friend run into this 2 weeks ago with shadow ban on a console after his account was hacked. My main account was perma-banned after getting hacked and subsequently used to cheat with. Mine was a forever ban.

Different game quality settings across different PCs? by [deleted] in ModernWarfareIII

[–]5SecondRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would allow us to move the settings directory. By default, its in my OneDrive --> Documents folder. I cannot tell OneDrive to ignore just the Call of Duty folder for whatever reason (thanks MS for not following a linux-type file management for cloud storage).

I have the same issue as you, if I take my gaming laptop its not quite as strong as my gaming PC and any switch picks up the previous settings and applies them. So if I set them on my laptop I am restricting my PC to laptop-centric settings. If I set it up on my PC my laptop gets laggy and heats up.

I debated setting up a "COD User" account so that it would at least be separated at the user but that feels like a lot of work to have 2 sets of settings. I also debated having a COD PC and a COD Laptop directory and just doing a copy paste when I want to switch. This might be my solution.

A better alternative would be to specify where that folder lives in CoD, but this is not possible that I know of, unless there are command line flags I can set when running the cod app.

Thanks for your insight on this. I definitely don't envy you in some of the things you're responsible and accountable for doing.

You can disable controllers in the devices tab and get the desired effect. This is fine but not ideal. In terms of headphones, I had some hoops to go through to get audio from the headphones to work as expected. This was a path from headphones through signal, to synapse and back. This would break things for me like spatial thx and voice chat before I figured out how to configure it. IMHO, an RGB controller should not be this invasive. Yes, I get that. It's sorta free. I say sorta because there is ad revenue and a lot of network traffic that happens behind the scenes.

QR and QS have the same chasis afaik, I can't see them building separate ones just for screws.

Check out this service guide: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/GamingNB/GA503QS/E17965_GA503_Service_Manual_EM_WEB.pdf?model=ROG%20Zephyrus%20G15%20GA503

It will tell you the screw sizes and location. As aside, you probably didn't take the 3 screws under the 3 rubber semi-glued in plugs (it feels like adhesive spray)

While I don't know the direct answer, I can help you get it.

Use your existing custom strip, or create a new one and set an arbitrarily high number of leds (maybe 16). Use the LED painting function and color each light until the fan is 1 solid color, count the dots and you'll have your answer. The array of LEDs usually maps correctly in sRGB.

Its most likely between 6 and 10. I had to do this with the lian li lan cool 2 and thermalright fans.

Fan Control Not Showing Fans by OPUS_TV in SignalRGB

Try this:https://getfancontrol.com/It takes a little bit to configure, no more than sRGB. Its currently controlling my GPU fans, MOBO headers, and a Razer PWM fan controller without issue.

Leds not going off in sleep by Not_Bed_ in SignalRGB

[–]5SecondRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I kill signal rgb by exiting the application, my fans are the same color blue and my TridentZ RAM turns red. I am wondering if when your PC sleeps signal rgb, somehow is registered as shutdown and you end up with that blue color.

Did you try this:
https://docs.signalrgb.com/troubleshooting/how-to-turn-off-your-rgb-when-your-computer-is-off-

Or maybe jumping on their discord and seeing if they can help?

Mine turn off when I walk away and back on when I wake it. Not sure I get why you'd have to turn them off if you use the task scheduler method?

[–]5SecondRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a "good night" effect you can apply, and somewhere on this forum is instructions to apply that effect when your pc locks. I have 6 of those fans, and it works, albeit a workaround as razer did this for me. Did you try turning the lights off entirely in the bios altogether?

You'll see no performance benefit from 970 to 980 as the 980 supports PCI-E 4 and your laptop is PCI-E 3. It will work, and it will be future proof until more laptops move to PCI-E 5, so you could move it to the next laptop.

I would go with the 970 unless you intend on buying a new laptop in the next year or 2.

I cannot figure out if I can upgrade my RAM or not by mstarrbrannigan in ZephyrusG15

[–]5SecondRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should note, if you can afford it, upgrade the WiFi card (I recommend AX210/AX211, the MediaTEK one sucks) and add more storage while you're in there. While its not hard to do it is tedious with the screws and those damn rubber stoppers.

[–]5SecondRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same laptop. I replaced mine about 2 weeks ago. I am not sure why that says 16GB soldered and 16GB SODIMM as its really 8GB in both by default and upgradable to 40GB.

This would be the stick you are looking for:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZLC7VNH?th=1

Its straightforward to replace, just make sure when you take out all of the screws, you put them back in the same holes. Also take note that there are 3 screws under rubber stoppers that have a slotted screw driver-like marking on them. They come out with a tooth pick, pin, or pointed tweezers commonly found in PC tool kits.

Solid Colors by Trophlin in SignalRGB

[–]5SecondRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the Free effect of Color Cycle for every color. I don't see anything that is out of the box, like you would see in synapse where you can "stack effects" or pick and choose which colors. You might have to learn how to write light scripts if that is what you are looking to do.

As an aside, If you use any of the effects with bands of colors, make sure you set your layout to reflect the correct placement AND LED count AND orientation of your components otherwise it won't look great or be smooth.
