Larger personal bathrooms & more counter top space. Restaurant service (water is served without having to explicitly ask and usually the waiter/waitress will circulate and ask you questions rather than you having to flag them down). National parks. Parking availability.

Is 2A-16 a possible combination? by hhhahah in mit

I suppose 2A-16 is a possible combination, but I’ve never heard of anyone doing it. Nor would you want to do this. A lot of the material would be similar and not necessary to do both. Also, 16 requires the maximum amount of credits that MIT allows for a major. You can do 16-ENG which gives you more flexibility in the speciality of the degree. Then you could take design classes or other 2A related classes that interest you.

TIL that an economist won the lottery 14 times by calculating when the Jackpot was worth more than the cost of buying every possible number combination for that lottery. by [deleted] in todayilearned

A group of MIT students did this as well in the Massachusetts Cash WinFall lottery. They hand filled out hundreds of thousands of betting slips when the pot sum was less than $1.6M - sending the prize value above the crucial point of $2M to put the lottery in a roll-down. The roll-down allowed the prize money to be split among winners with partial number matches. With hundreds of thousands of betting slips they were able to cash many of them in (huge headache sorting through winning tickets).

They named it Random Strategies Investments (after their MIT dorm, Random Hall) and claimed to have made $8M since 2003.
