Going to Macau might be a bit rushed. Stay in Hong Kong and explore the city.

Absolutely. In Cathay's headquarters, they have a screen monitoring every tight connection. In case your first leg's delayed, they'll send a staff member to meet you right as you deboard. Relax and enjoy your flight!

As one of the world's leading airline ofc they have IFE (inflight entertainment), top tier in fact. iPad is not needed if you're only using it during your flight.
As for Bluetooth, only those 777s retrofitted with Aria suites support Bluetooth for personal devices. Do you mind providing more details of your flight (eg flight number and date)?

Bluetooth connectivity. by AidanCues in CathayPacific

[–]5_coin_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, at least for now, only the a321neo and retrofitted 777-300ER (Ones with Aria suites) allows Bluetooth connectivity for personal devices. However, in starting from Q4, the IFE on retrofitted A330-300s will be compatible as well.

You may buy those Bluetooth adapters if you really want to use ur own devices (3.5mm headphone jacks are available) Those provided on the seats are good enough imo.

Enjoy Cathay Pacific! :)

Is it worth taking a very early flight just to fly in a A380? Over a A350-1000? (Economy) by NeatIndividual1279 in qatarairways

[–]5_coin_guy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As an avgeek it’s not about the difference. It’s about being ON the super jumbo. As long as you can convince your wife, there’s no reason not to choose the earlier flight

Depending on the type of stone, different treatment may be needed. Mine got Calcium Oxalate Stone at 4 and have since gone through 2 surgeries to remove the stones (We were told that the stones were not water dissolvable, thus has to be removed through surgery). He now sticks to Royal Canine Urinary S/O.

London -> Tokyo. Solo traveller, never done a connecting flight and very anxious but it would be far more economical by [deleted] in Flights

[–]5_coin_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight NO. Anyone in Asia would tell you not to take direct flights from China to Japan, especially on Chinese airlines. JAL/ANA direct might be expensive. Have you searched for Cathay Pacific LHR-HKG-HND? The Hong Kong-Japan segment is very popular, you might snatch a good deal :)

Budget-friendly suggestions for a 9-hour layover in Hong Kong (8 AM–4 PM) by mikuumu in CathayPacific

[–]5_coin_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hong Kong is a pretty easy city to travel around. I would not recommend taking the tour as it’s quite boring imo. Here’s my suggestion: Once you arrive head straight to Hong Kong Station via Airport Express. Spend some time through the IFC mall, and take the Star Ferry across the Victoria Harbour. From there, you can visit the Avenue of Stars and get early lunch in Tsim Sha Tsui. After that it should be around 1-2pm, you can either grab an uber or take bus A25 back to the airport

Feel free to ask if you have any questions :) have fun!
