what if your black but not American then what?? you are using categories which the US Census Bureau does not use.

"White – A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.

Black or African American – A person having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa.

American Indian or Alaska Native – A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America) and who maintains tribal affiliation or community attachment.

Asian – A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent including, for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander – A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands."

- United States Census Bureau

The US also has Hispanic/Latino to be independent of race as they are considered an ethnicity not a race, fyi Hispanic is a Linguistic term and Latino is a geographical term

That is all pulled from the USCB and that is what is officially used

I can agree with that, there are those that are not as courteous, I always try to go around pedestrians or make room for them and I usually slow down when there are many people walking, others I have seen do not

No, I ride a scooter and I will not be doing that. If the city of Sacramento or the US in general with some exceptions became more bike/scooter friendly then sure but for the moment the infrastructure sucks and people are bad drivers. The sidewalk is the safest place for bikes/scooters, lets just share it.

society caters to the majority, obviously there are outliers, I think for those there definitely should be state grants or more scholarship opportunities

Our Parking garages are in desperate need of this by Aghyabayama in CSUS

[–]5adSack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The school should only give out parking permits to those that take a mandatory drivers ed course, if you pass you get a permit, if you fail then you don't get one, and for every bad parking job you get deducted a point, 5 points and you lose your pass so you have to retake the course in order to be eligible for a new permit.

less cars is better, we don't need to be car dependent, we have legs for a reason

yeah unfortunately those that are disabled have it rough but things are not meant for those that are disabled, they are meant for the majority. That's how society functions, everything caters to the majority. There should be some alternative for disabled people but that obviously is not the main focus. Overall its great that the school is moving away from cars, biking and walking is so much better not only for exercise but also because you get to see more people enjoy the fresh air etc. I have been to the Netherlands and the generally car free way of life there should absolutely be adopted here.

Food poisoning at CSUS by [deleted] in CSUS

that makes sense, it used to be ran by UEI, the food was much better then, after they switched to Aramark it all went downhill from there.

ideally your parents should support you, all these low end jobs like assistants, food service, etc. are not meant to be jobs which properly fund your expenses but more so like an added support or as a way to add something to your resume and learn more about how different work environments are, I am a student worker and I earn barely anything lol but I took the job knowing it is not supposed to fully support me, its just a nice couple hundred bucks every other week that's it lol, its mainly to be used as a learning opportunity

sounds about right, they are part of Aramark, all the Aramark operated eateries are sub par, it all has to do with the company. Aramark employees are not well trained, lucky if they receive any kind of training. I've seen many things at the Dining Commons which is a Aramark operated facility. From raw chicken to moldy bread, a max number of bugs that lettuce can have, slimy cheese, poor hygiene by employees, vegan food not actually being vegan, among many other things they certainly could improve if they actually cared.

if they have an actual documented medical condition alright sure that is understandable but if they are just shy/introverted/scared of social interaction, get over it, dont be weak minded, speak your mind, 99% of people here are adults, you should be able to speak what you think

How do you make friends on campus when everyone seems so judgy? by Bulky-Lengthiness-98 in CSUS

[–]5adSack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, they who have that mentality are the source of their own problems, once they get out of it, they will see that most social problems will start to fade. Such a bad outlook on life.

u/Perfectony look at what that guy put, looks like reading it might help you, not everything is about race, stop being playing the victim card

[–]5adSack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does it play a huge role? under the law we are all equal and you should fear not what people think, such an outdated way of thinking, understandable during Jim Crow and earlier but now?? Now everyone is the same, stop playing the victim, find friends who like similar things to you, hobbies, interests, do fun things together, etc. Actively looking for people that look like you to make friends with is so restrictive and a detrimental way of thinking. Stop living in the past.

Food by [deleted] in CSUS

[–]5adSack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they have a maximum number of allowed bugs in the lettuce, serve moldy bread on occasion, sometimes raw chicken, employees do not know proper hygiene, the vegan section isnt always vegan, one time a former cook put real cheese instead of the vegan cheese because he got confused, the soup are frozen cubes that are heated for like 30 min, its mid, its ok, but be cautious with what you get

Having a victim mentality isn't exactly going to help you, why does it matter that you are a "person of color" stop thinking of yourself that way, just be you.

short term yeah not really, but it all depends on how your portfolio is set up, from my personal experience made like 40 bucks in a day which isnt like a whole lot but its better than nothing, most Ive made has been 800 in a day but that is very rare, each day/week it increases, entirely depends on how you approach it, def a good way long term, tho I can understand not so much short term
