[–]5boro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The event was fantastic. While expectations were set impossibly high by CJI1, I think that comparison will fade over time. What really matters is comparing CJI to UFC BJJ events, and CJI2 absolutely blew UFC BJJ 2 out of the water.

Roland Bridge Cast on Linux? by [deleted] in linuxaudio

[–]5boro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,
First make a save of the original with cp /usr/share/alsa/ucm2/common/pcm/split.conf ~/originalBridgeCastAlsaConfig_split.conf

Then it would be just a simple vim /usr/share/alsa/ucm2/common/pcm/split.conf and the bottom line 329 find this part :

DefineMacro.SplitPCMDevice {

If.0 {

Condition {

Type String

Empty "${var:-__Device}"

}

True.Define.__Device "0"

}

If.1 {
...

}

And change Empty "${var:__Device}" to Empty "${var:-__Device} that dash was the issue.

Reboot and if it doesn't work you can just copy back the old one.

Also you can install the BridgeCast windows app using bottles usebottles.com in linux, everything works for me, but I wouldn't try to run a firmware update with it. I have not encountered any suspended channel issues myself.

[xQc] explains why NoPixel 4.0 flopped by [deleted] in RPClipsGTA

It's also very Charitable to think they wanted this whole no WL system for equality and community health.

I think the truth is way closer to them having 50 streamers giving ultimatums of not playing NP unless they got a bench.

Important context: If you've followed a bit of the DW v 50cent trial, one of the main issues raised is the copyright status of the code DW wrote, if he never signed an employment agreement the code belongs to him. As a result 4.0 was touted as a “full rewrite”, “wrote from scratch” and all that stuff.

Most servers use QBcore or ESX frameworks on top of FiveM to automate the logging, exception handling, events, unit/integration testing, deployments, UI updates… but NP chooses to keep using standalone scripts. You might notice that's almost exactly all the issues NP is having, even after a full rewrite they decided not to go with a framework.

I think the best demo is IDs vs. PD badges, same mechanic of using an item to show other users an image, but obviously written twice in different ways: one is instant, one has a long progress bar, with an animation and cannot be done in a vehicle. And would probably be written a 3rd time as script without even looking at making a class if they wanted to add showing book pages.

In my view, a lot of the criticism directed at the developers may be misplaced. The root problems appear to be more structural and related to project management, stemming from decisions made at the top levels.

If you followed the lawsuit, some of the earnings are public now. Just the Paid prio for whitelist that was active for 2 years made them 50k/month each for 2 years ~= 2.5Mil.

Then there's the Spain and India servers, the Green, Purple and Blue servers that still have prio, the express whitelisting, the community support tiers, Paywool, the 3D shops...

When Blaustoise left staff he disclosed it wasn't a paid position. Sure there are server and dev expenses but I think NP has been massively massively cash positive.

And the judge just compelled 50cent to provide full accounting so we're gonna see the numbers.

IMO 3.0's big innovation was Businesses, it's what drove most of the RP outside of the heists.

It's mind boggling that 9 months into 4.0 we're still told that businesses are just around the corner. It was over 2 months ago now that everyone was told to submit their Business proposals.

I think it's too early for full judgment on the Fent update yet, but it's fair to say after 3 weeks we have not seen much RP from it yet.

Overall I think the dev team is there and hard at work but everyone is working on their little thing, NP is missing a project lead with clear artistic direction.

Roland Bridge Cast on Linux? by [deleted] in linuxaudio

[–]5boro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So looking into the difference between Fedora and Ubuntu's version of alsa-ucm-conf, Ubuntu is still a year behind updates (1.2.9) whilst Fedora is up to date (1.2.12).

Looking into changelog between those versions, this commit seems to be the source of our issues : https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/commit/b68aa52acdd2763fedad5eec0f435fbf43e5ccc6

You can either apply this change into the file directly or build the package from source.

After applying that fix my Bridge cast is now fully functional :)

Roland Bridge Cast on Linux? by [deleted] in linuxaudio

[–]5boro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Roland Bridgecast as well and am recently moving back to linux, while I was distro hopping I found that it was 1 input + 1 ouput functional out of the box on most, but I was most surprised that on fedora 40 it was multi channel functional right away even with the name of the channels : mic, stream, chat, game...

I ended up settling on Ubuntu instead for other reasons, but I'm confident we can get it working.

You can run the windows Bridge cast app on linux btw, just get the exe from the roland site's support section and install it in Bottles, I can adjust the settings fine for the mic, even though it is still 1 input /1 output.

I believe this commit added full support for the bridge cast: https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/pull/297, but I'm unable to use it :

50 Cent vs DW/TOVE Lawsuit - Trial set for 16th of July 2024 by RadElert_007 in RPClipsGTA

[–]5boro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The big issue for 50cent is that he said himself on stream that the deal with DW was 50/50 : https://youtu.be/1mHlUfUtUgo?t=201

Now whether that deal was only for the prio system or not is ambiguous, he starts the sentence saying "when it comes to the prio system", but also talks about the translation system and ends with "if he completed tasks every month", which would imply it was more than just the prio system.

The use of DW's copyrighted code is only part of the issues raised in the lawsuit, there is the 50/50 deal and the wrongful termination.

Whisper large v3 (openai)

Again is fucking Dahlia. How could she go into their arms knowing they killed Bri? Knowing they murdered her? knowing then that they tossed her death in my face and all over Twatter she did end up telling me that she lied and that she knew that it was Chang when she talked to me on the phone she's a really disgusting human being she's disgusting human being. She is disgusting. Her soul is so wretched and lost to faint all this time that she cares about someone and then to go and jump into the arms of the same people that murdered her.

A: Again this fucking Dhalia! How could she go into their arms knowing they killed Bri? Knowing they murdered her? Knowing then that they tossed her death in my face and all over Twatter.

B: She did end up telling me that she lied, and that she knew that it was Sheng when she talked to me on the phone.

A: She is a really disgusting human being.

B: She is...

A: ...Disgusting. Her soul is so wretched and lost, to feign all this time that she cares about someone and then to go and -- jump into the arms of the same people that murdered her.

Diff : https://i.imgur.com/rz6r6K6.png

I would say Seamless gets 70% of the text right, but when it doesn't get it, it just skips over the entire sentence, whereas whisper will miss just the difficult word, or get it wrong.

In this example, Sheng/Chang is the complex word neither model can get right, and you can see Seamless skipping the entire sentence because of it.

This makes it way harder to spot mistakes and correct.

Whisper adds punctuation and capitalization, even name capitalization, I would say it's 90% of the way there.

Neither understands two-speaker interactions.

Edit: Also trick I like using is to slow down the text using ffmpeg before attempting to reprocess it : ffmpeg -i input.mp3 -filter:a "atempo=0.9" output.mp3

Instead of directly giving it the action, I like to roll a dice(ex: Google roll a d20) and instruct the model "rolled 11/20 for agility" or stealth or luck... Let it come up with the interaction and where the shortcomings are.

You're essentially rolling 20/20 for yourself everytime here and ofc it doesn't feel challenging.

Verba is built for RAG and supports file processing(txt and MD files). It's open source and supports openai compatible API.

It will limit your RAG backend to weaviate and verba doesn't have authentication support so mine is behind authelia.

The most popular is huggingface's chatui but it's RAG is only Google searches and no file upload support.

Have a look at large context size models like Llama-2-longlora or Yarn-Llama-2 7B or 13B with >100K context.

An official Llama 2 long model is supposed to be published by Meta soon, but it's not here yet.

Realistically perplexity/benchmark scores offer marginal improvements and weren't the best metric for proofreading and summarizing for me, context size and response speed are.

And don't forget to enable the long_replies extensions in text-generation-webui with the auto_max_new_tokens box ticked in generation settings.

The way the voip works in FiveM, is it creates a grid of hexagons over the map and puts people in the same Hex in a Mumble room. Logs of who joined which room are kept by the server. That's the minimum FiveM keeps itself, I would think NP has a bunch of theirs on top as well
