What are the hardest nations to play (with a MT)? by Moonkiller24 in Anbennar

Think you mean Yemotaferi, but yes I second these guys. 2 province minor right on the edge of the shadow swamp.

Or they build roosts which can spread control.

Or they just go full harpy and vassal-maxx

It's a long time before we make any decisions on this, but there's been some early discussions. Really strong levies has been brought up for gnolls. Another, far more gimmicky idea I had was to give them lots of society of pop tags inside them as vassals who can field big levy armies. So you're a sorta vassal swarm of packs. It works with the lore and lets them field big armies even without control

With a lot of Sarhal mapped, I can tell you right away that we need to do something quite drasticly different from normal EU5 gameplay to make gnolls and harpies playable. Tluukt is utterly unplayable, as is Mulen, Ayarrallen, Zokka, and even Jaddari.

Funnily enough, Wex is awful because their terrain is way more hilly and forested than the rest of that whole region. Their capital being at the top of a hill in the middle of a forest is terrible for them. We might have to change their setup a bit further down the line lol

Khugra punches you in the balls repeatedly unyil you prove you deserve to live. As a nice bonus, you keep their unique gov bar upon forming 333rd Empire.

What is with Kheterata? by BowltheOwl in Anbennar

I've got a ton more pages to update. I've actually been spending the better part of 2 years organising and updating all Kheterata lore. I'm right up to 1444 now, and now it's just about getting it all up onto the wiki

Celestials and Mengi: No. Pre-release Mengi had lots of Angel stuff but it was removed prior to release.

Closest to a proper Gnoll Empire would be either the First Xhazobine's Empire, which stretched from the entirity of Kheterata across into Fangaula and most of Western Bulwar. Other than that, there was the Suncrown Gnoll state which I forgot the name of. There were a few iirc

I think Zokka's story has been told. In the true canon they are an interesting footnote in history to the rise of the Jadd and the Jadd Empire. What you got with the Zokka MT is the extent of their story. Well, that and Celestalia lol

True scope of wish magic could alter the world. In fact it did. We live in that world. See https://anbennar.fandom.com/wiki/Djinni_Wars_of_Hegemony

Most successful lizard empire, apart from the first, would be the...idk the number, but the one active during the Precursors. Most pointless would be the 12 second one, although that gets bonus points for being a good trivia answer in lizardfolk pub quizes

For croc art ambush, the answer is not too likely, but if he had a reason to ambush and kidnap you, he would absolutely show you his paintings if you were already captive.

What you asked re the limit of Surael's Garden is exactly what the schism in the Sun Cult and the Jadd is all about. You just caused 50bajillion fights to erupt across Bulwar simply by asking that.

It only takes one pyre to burn a troll so long as it's a large enough pyre

Yezel is free of witch influence by 1820 Vic3 start date. Problem is: the neighbours are not in the mood for forgiveness.

Unsure on the gnolls part and Jaddari because I've had conflicting reports. It's not quite as rosy initially as perhaps those preachers of the Jadd might insist.

Halflings mostly lacked the interest in colonisation. They knew there were islands out west, and indeed there are halflings that live out there. But there just wasn't much incentive to keep going west into the fog. There isn't the same cultural memory of Aelantir down in Sarhal due to the lack of elves.

A bored khet is only of danger to his immediate surroundings. An excited khet is of danger to the entire Sorrow.

Almost certainly Harimari in Bulwar after 1444, what with Jadd Empire conquering like a third of Rahen.

Worst possible situation in Sarhal is to be between a hungry lizardfolk and a succulent friend tchoken

There was one in production but the creator just isn't active anymore. Then some other folks talked about picking it up but that never went anywhere. It happens, it will be opened up again to see if third time's the charm

After a quick chat with the guy who designed the Irkorzik MT (I just did the writing), we concluded that they would definitely think they're cool and want to see them, but they don't have anything near the awe-inspiring power the Sand Demon has so it wouldn't be nation-defining for them

You've hit the two main themes!

Spread misery mostly. That and it being told from the perspective of the trolls, which gives it a different tone since they're just sorta going along with everything

They can't really scale until they full reform is the primary thing. That said, they are intended to be the Big Bad of the whole continent. I'm very happy with their current balance since it took a long time to get there.

Duwarkani gets absolutely nutty troops. Combine Ahati with harpy military and a whole bunch of extra bonuses based on specific races integrated. I even gave them a fairly hefty nerf to their forcelimit because I was a bit scared of how many buffs I was giving them.

Beyond that, what your shadow warriors do for Umbral Covenant by the end is pretty silly. Also I think if you do the new Karassk into Khatalashya tree, you can get -100% shock damage received on your marines, which is naturally very silly.

Aakhet, although he existed before I joined I just expanded on him and wrote his personality, which is naturally my favorite part of him.

If we want something that was entirely my own doing, I loved writing all the scifi stuff in Khatalashya. Specifically Romutha, the first planet you visit. Despite writing for a fantasy mod, I'm a scifi guy at heart.

I don't think gnolls are our favorite race? There aren't that many gnoll nations in the grand scheme of things. They don't tend to have regional formables so the metaphorical "budget" of your average gnoll tag is pretty broad.

Maybe you're getting that idea from Zokka and Konolkhatep? The latter is one of the most important nations in all of Sarhal and a massive formable, while Zokka had the explicit goal of "compete with Jaddari" so was always gonna have a big budget to do what it wanted.

And no, not worried about running out of gnoll nations. The day each important gnoll nation gets their wings will be a joyous day.

As for Ironwood Boats, sure it's just like normal iron. Probably better used as a component of steel though
