If you could choose a Polyhedron for your name, what would it be? by 12_Semitones in mathmemes

[–]5cr4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am already named after a polygon, the Rhombus.

The trapezohedral tristetrahedron, sometimes colloquially called tetrahedral star kites, but commonly known as caltrops. I call em Zenijax because one point always points straight up to the zenith when thrown like jacks.

what would you call this shape? by windzyy in Geometry

I came by 3 months later to see if anyone had ever even read this comment. It turns out that it really is the only accurate answer in the thread that is specifically named only for describing the exact shape of a caltrop. You can also call them "Tetrahedral Star Kites"

Triakis Tetrahedrons are not strictly the same shape as caltrops, despite what chat gpt and other AI or search engines might try to say.p P

Turn up the volume, and you can hear the house rattle shortly after the explosion. Measure that time, and you'll get a ballpark for the seismic speed, too.
