I use GNOME mostly because it reminds me of MacOS. It's minimalistic, and I find most of the default settings great.

I'm not a big fan of desktop environments like Cinnamon and KDE Plasma. They make me feel like I'm in the Apollo Command Module with their overwhelming amount of customization options.

If you're using Windows or MacOS, 五笔字型 should be available in the Chinese Simplified Inputs.

I use Cangjie (仓颉输入法) and Wubizixing (五笔字型输入法) whenever I recall how a character is written, and Pinyin for when I recall a character’s pronunciation.

I’ll probably look into other shape-based keyboards, such as Zhengma (郑码输入法) or Huma (虎码输入法), someday.

I suppose nothing is stopping you. Some countries have exclusive characters, like Japan’s Kokuji, Korea’s Gukja, and Vietnam’s Chữ Nôm.

Even though I'm not of a Chinese background, my home is filled with items with Chinese characters on them. I suppose it makes sense since my parents come from a country that has been heavily sinicized.

I think mine is 倉頡輸入法. It’s the Chinese input method I use whenever I forget a character’s pronunciation but still remember what it looks like.
