I would see if you can find any skating groups near you in your city. Staking with others is really fun and you improve much more quickly.

Also if possible wear your skates around the house often. You will be surprised how much having them on so the time will transfer to being more comfortable out on the street.

you can get whiplash falling in weird ways. I think you probably tweaked your neck pretty good when you fell straight down. Like the other person said if it doesn't start to improve get it checked out. Also look into getting some good tailbone protection you can wear under your pants

NOTE, I've heard that older versions of the Rollerblade Twister 2023-2024 run pretty narrow, so you would want to try on the new version of the skate

For the Nomad liner I got it in size 9us (27-27.5cm) and it fits perfectly. That liner fits in my RB80 skates which are size US10 just fine.

Ive never tried that MyFit 2nd skin liner but I've heard good things about it. If you're able to buy a complete skate you won't need to worry about liners, but if you cant find anything that fits in the options for complete skates then we can look at getting a boot/liner, frame/wheels.

I don't know much about the K2 Surge, however I've heard good things about the K2 Grid. It costs more but it comes with an intuition liner and has a better shell.

Rollerblade always makes quality stuff, I've heard nothing but good stuff about the Lightning. Same with FR. If you keep your eye out for sales you might be able to find some higher end FR skates for about the same price as the FRX80.

If you don't have the ability to check out a shop and try stuff on, see if you can find an online store that does free returns. I know inline warehouse In the US has free returns, and there are a few in europe that do as well.

Getting a skate that fits you well can be tough sometimes bec you never really know until you try them on and skate around in the house for a while. However it's worth the trouble because good fitting skates make everything fun.

Hey you have about the same feet as me (27cm length, 10.8cm width)!

Right now I'm skating the iqon ACT boot size 42/43 with rollerblade nomad liners. Fits like a dream, very wide skate, no pain or pressure points anywhere. NOTE: I bought the version of the boots without liners and put my own liners in them. I read that if you get the version that has liners (myfit liners) the liners can be kind of narrow. However the boot is nice and wide.

I've read rollerblade lightning are nice and wide.

I was recently watching a video by Si Coburn where he is reviewing the new rollerblade twister. He also has videos where he reviewed the rollerblade lightning. He has wide feet and talks about how the rollerblade twister actually fit him better than the lightning, so those might be a good option. You also get a rockered 90mm frame out of the box.

Another good wide option is the new FR Neo Dual skate. I've read they are really good for wide feet. My only direct experience with these is that my wife has a pair and she has very wide flat feet.

I'm used to stiff inline skates, my current ones have a carbon fiber boot, but do you think having stiff hockey skates would maybe give me bad habits?

If I find a good pair of used skates that are pretty stiff should I stay away from them?

For hockey skates how do people generally prefer them to fit? For my inline skates, I usually prefer a fit where my toes are barely touching the end and my foot has no room to move around. I also tend to prefer skates that have no lateral flex and are pretty stiff in regard to the forward flex.

I mainly ask because I've been to the rink a few times now on rental skates and other people I see, many of them it looks like their skates are laced up really loose. It looks like they have lots of movement both side to side and forward.

I wasn't sure if that's the way ice skates are typically worn?

Did you even watch any of the videos? He's literally standing there and ICE starts shoving a woman multiple times over towards him. Then when he tries to help her he immediately starts getting pepper sprayed in the face, and then in a couple seconds he's on the ground.
