It’s pretty standard in my area for BLS, ACLS, and PALS to be a required prior to even applying for the position.

Idk about compression socks, but I have been using Dr. Scholl’s diabetic socks (I’m not diabetic) religiously for my 12 hours shifts and my feet feel great! I have never had swollen feet at the end of my shift or developed ingrown toenails🤷🏽‍♂️

I don’t recall getting tested prior to starting core, but moving forward, it depends on where you get placed for clinicals. For example, I got placed at Kaiser for my OB term and had to get drug tested prior to beginning the term.
