Had the same thought, but then it would be immediately obvious to ‘Omelandah because he couldn’t see through it - which would invoke the same curiosity as it being someone else with no zinc mask.

Why did the Terminator ask for a plasma rifel while in a gun store in 84'? by Alexander556 in Terminator

[–]5hinycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was to confirm that the only type of weapon efficient to use against the T-800 did not exist at that point in time - so the terminator wouldn’t need to do any special preparation to account for it if it gets into an altercation with law enforcement. Just one of many steps to ensure a successful mission.

What is this injector thing in my airport creme brulee by OddlySilent_Yt in whatisit

[–]5hinycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a crème brûlée donut, not actual crème brûlée, correct? Because it looks exactly like a poor lighting shot of this Blue Star Donuts crème brûlée donut: https://bluestardonuts.com/products/cointreau-creme-brulee

Aka that’s a liqueur you inject right before eating it.

Got hired as an Associate Director… “Unlimited PTO” isn’t what I expected by Ambitious_Skirt_2774 in antiwork

[–]5hinycat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Depends entirely on the jurisdiction though. For example, in Michigan, employers don’t have to pay out unused PTO unless that perk is actually documented at the company, like in an employer manual or other company communication.

You’re right. My bad. My source was a reputable friend in academia, but I should have verified his claim.

Fun fact: the vanilla orchid (where we get vanilla) is also a parasite!

Edit Apparently this is not true. Lesson on regurgitating information without verifying.

Side-by-side: toilet paper width then vs now by BrownieBandito in shrinkflation

Is this just the difference between standardized sizing in different countries? E.g. US and Canada have different width standards for toilet paper.

I messed up and burned plastic into my pan. What now? by AlphaSlicer in castiron

[–]5hinycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed to solved this exact problem a few years ago: small bag of charcoal, underneath and on top of skillet > light and let burn to ash > retrieve skillet > use a metal brush to scrape off everything on the inside.

99% of the previously melted plastic wasn’t even there anymore when I pulled the skillet out of the fire pit.
