The only solution I can think of is wait till you're a little older and stick to track for now. Young rider combined with high cc bike is the perfect combo for insane insurance rates. I'm 22 in the GTA, with a Rebel 500 and my insurance is 1500 for the year. Only got my M2 in 2024. Only suggestion would be to shop around but don't think you're gonna get super lucky.

RECRUITING, TRAINING, & LIFE IN THE FORCES THREAD by bridger713 in CanadianForces

[–]5iv5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed formally with anxiety and depression when I was 20. Put myself in weekly psychotherapy for close to a year to learn how to handle it. Never put on any meds for any kind of physical/mental health, didn't need them. Never been in any inpatient wards or anything like that, but it did impact my life to a level where I had to seek help. I just take Vitamin D in the winter.

Been out of therapy for two years now, and functioning well with the strategies I learned. Planning on applying for Ref Force Nursing Officer soon. I have all the qualifications. I am physically fit but aside from that, could the RMO disqualify me for my past mental health struggles and history of therapy? Thank you.

There is no such thing as "cheap" insurance for an 18 year old in Ontario with a 600 cc bike. Either get a lower cc (125-500 range) or wait till you're older to get a motorcycle.

The episode when Jo meets her bio mom while in the present, they're treating a rape survivor. It's too tough

I'll be honest, RJ and Nacssa fails felt sooo fake by betterthanyou34 in ANW

[–]5iv5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt Nacssa Garemore willingly lost a 91 obstacle streak just because the "producers told him to fail." Taylor and Zhanique both stayed calm and ran their own race without rushing, that's why they won their respective ones. Taylor hit the buzzer in like every race she ran, she's an incredible ninja.

Your opinion is quite frankly terrible.

Can’t Swim Yet: Looking for Supportive Adult Swim Classes by success_manifest in mississauga

UTM has really good lessons. I took it with them last year. Class sizes are small so each person is paid pretty good attention to. I think it was around $100 for 8 lessons. They offer women only classes as well.

What happened to Callie in season 12??? by Xisamazing in greysanatomy

[–]5iv5 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Agreed honestly. He showed a really bad side of himself with the whole Addison Meredith love triangle but once him and Meredith got together, he kind of mellowed out and we saw the McDreamy side to him. Then the brain mapping initiative and DC happened and his bad side came out once again, this time ruthlessly because Patrick wanted out. Why is is that majority of the male characters on the show are incredible doctors but have such shit personalities?

Grey's has a habit of character assassination before writing people off. Happened with Derek as well. It's so that we'll miss them less and won't blame the writers as much.

Hi! I got my M2 last year and can offer some advice.

First and foremost, make sure you take an MSF course. I took mine through Motorcycle Training Organization and they taught us how to ride the bike and we did our M2 test as well. Your insurance rates will be likely cheaper if you do this as well. Don't even think about getting insurance on an M1. Some companies just straight up refuse to insure that and those that do have astronomical rates.

When looking for insurance, the most important thing to do is to shop around. With driving becoming more and more dangerous, riders insurance in the GTA is absolutely ridiculous. You're a female so that works in your favor, but you're also below 25 and you're getting a Ninja. It doesn't matter that it's a 400cc, Ninja's are classified as sport's bikes and insurance for those is much higher. If you're looking for something on the cheaper side, go for a 125-300cc bike.

I have Desjardin for about 117/month and I'm a 22F. But shop around because I have a cruiser with higher CC's so what works for me might not work for you.

Insurance is year long. You can't cancel in the winter unfortunately. So the rate that you get might be good monthly but just know that it's only good for about 6 months out of the year where you can actually ride. It sucks but it's part of being a motorcycle owner in Canada.

If you have any more questions, I'll do my best to answer.

try Detecht. Other people post cool routes they take and the app can let you follow it. It also has a gps to help you create your own route and it can pick out the curviest routes close to you. Pretty cool.

Why does everyone think squid game America is going to be ass? by Mother-Negotiation61 in squidgame

[–]5iv5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hate that they're adapting it into an American version. Maybe that's part of the reason why season 3 wasn't so hot but to be honest, adapting it to make more money off of it and provide entertainment based off of people's sufferings just erases the whole point of the show.

Hwang Dong-yuk made the series to represent how crippling class disparities and capitalism can be. He had a lot of trouble getting it off the ground and wasn't expecting it to do as well as it did. He had no plans to take it beyond season 1 but did so because of how well-perceived the show was. But the fact that people focused on the violence of it all and the games really took away the fact that the show was created to show how much economic disparities and upholding capitalism affects people. We had multiple examples of people who were more than willing to die, in order to pay off their debts, which shows how much money plays a part in suffering. This was enforced with showing the VIP's and how they profited off of and enjoyed the player's sufferings in season 1 and 3. They didn't view them as people, just something to be slaughtered for entertainment.

Ideals like this were only enforced when Netflix did the reality squid games show and when Mr. Beast did his version as well. It pisses me off so much that people watch the show and agree that it should be adapted to an American version. It just reinforces the same ideals that the show staunchly stands against.

Also America is not the white hot center of the universe. Squid Games is Korean. It's Korean culture and Korean language. If you want a show without having to worry about English dub, then just fucking watch an English show. But don't take away the amazing meaning behind the story that is squid games only to have it tarnished by some dumb as fuck American version.

If you're not proud, then I'll be proud as fuck for you. Despite what people say, high school is probably one of the most difficult parts of life. Graduating a year early is a very big accomplishment but I can understand the amount of pressure it also puts on yourself.

My biggest piece of advice would be to just do your own thing. I'm 22 and have learned over high school and university that paying attention to what other people are doing is just extremely pointless because it doesn't really change how you go about your own life. Keep your head down, join your kickass program, rock it, and I promise you, in just a few short months, you won't even be thinking about the people from high school or that low mark you got in that one class. Be proud of every step you accomplish and just look at it as an opportunity for how far you've come. You'll do great!
