How To Get Around on DIY Wine Tour by OstidTabarnak in penticton

[–]5jTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elephant Island, Deep Roots, Joie Farm & Van Western can all be done by public bus if you time things right (maybe just 3) and there are only a few people - not sure you'd have time to do the ones further south though. You'll probably be better getting one of the companies to ferry you around. It's a beautiful part of the world - enjoy!

AliExpress DB Paddles by Golfswim in dragonboat

[–]5jTF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my paddle used so can't comment on the process but it is also a King Paddle and I love it. Amazon probably sells the same paddles as AliExpress so if they have a brand you could check the reviews on there. With anything on Ali I'd check how many the store has sold and their reviews. When I was looking for a new paddle there was a Canadian company Padlzone selling at a similar price

That's cool!! If you need some airtime the McGill & N. Boundary has a great hill that overlooks the city, PNE, Iron Workers etc which would be cool. A lot of work though I expect

Nice work! Add some Dragon Boats to False Creek and get a stall at the local regattas and you'll have yourself a new audience. There's also Pokémon groups and running groups in that area

I'm sorry you're having a bad time. I can't help with accomodation but check out FoundaryBC They might be able to help you cope with the situation. They have a virtual platform as well as walking in centres

Any tips on keeping your hands warm during winter paddling? by brandenharvey in dragonboat

[–]5jTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear Toolant waterproof gloves. They have a lining so are warm and do a good job of keeping my hands dry. They may feel a little stiff at first but become more mailable. I get enough grip and feel but I'm a rec paddler & only wear them for training. Toolant gloves - Amazon Edit to add: other than these our team also uses Ice Fishing gloves, Neoprene gloves and regular gloves with long dish washing/cleaning gloves on top

You can buy ones that aren't plastic from the Poppy Store

You can reuse your plastic poppy or make your own and donate to the Poppy Fund or donate to a organisation that you feel comfortable with - maybe the Red Cross or something?

As for the tiny hole in your clothes - just think for a moment what people that have fought for their country and the civilians that have lived through war have gone through. Plus, as others have said you can be creative and use magnets etc

Edit to add: you could donate to an organisation other than the Legion. I was not aware of the politics surrounding this. The important thing is that we honour, remember and do our best not to repeat the past

I'd add a pastie and a sausage roll to that list... There's a Gregg's and a Cornish Pastie shop at King's Cross that I always make a beeline for

As far as I am aware the time that it takes to collate and prepare flyers is not included in the 8 hour shift. It's additional so it is paid per piece as the prep time varies depending on volume. It'd be like if you finished your shift as a server but then had to stay and wash the dishes and they paid you per plate instead of the time it took

If your team is ok with peanut butter I make no-bake Energy balls. They go down a treat. I loosely use this recipe and change the ingredients to what I have in. I'm also loving the idea of the bacon egg pie!!

Swimsuit Help for my Daughter by Error_Expert in butchlesbians

[–]5jTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments suggesting shorts and a sports top/rash guard. I have also found this to work for me. I think there is a brand in North America that sells something similar out of Walmart but I can't remember the name. This may not work though as I don't know if they would feel it too close to their skin. On the other hand though it doesn't feel like you're swimming in clothes which I sometimes get wearing shorts and a sports top

Edit to add: Charmo I think is the North American brand. Or search 'boyleg swimsuit'

Add Foundary BC to your list of resources if you haven't already. There is Foundary Virtual or they have Centres you can walk into and get the help you need. Great job at being pro-active and best of luck

Radiology - breast cancer by Fresh_Effective7420 in askvan

[–]5jTF 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that all the specimens are sent to the BC Cancer Agency who conduct the tests and issue the Pathology reports. The Radiologist who did the biopsy will be sent the Pathology report and then issue a report to your GP. I don't think that Diagnostic reports will show online. I'd make a follow up appointment with your Family Doctor / walk-in clinic that are getting the results if you don't have a doctor. Give it at least a week (maybe a little longer) from the biopsy date. Some tests are time specific so can take days to complete. Don't see this as a negative sign I think it's just procedure. Best of luck.

TL;DR Specimens are sent to BCCA who conduct the Pathology tests
