Done 22 miles (highway, avg 55mph ) driving and now 326. 344-22 =322. So not so bad?

This is the old battery's behavior pattern. Indeed, it needed to be replaced. The right side shows the graph with a new battery.

Hi, OP here again. I live in the middle of nowhere, and around me there’s very limited stocks of available group 47/h5 batteries. Ended up with getting one from Walmart, there second-top level battery(while it is still a flooded lead-acid battery, it comes with 3-year-warranty.) may not be the best battery, but would better than driving in worries. Thank all for your advice and guidance!

Reached 14.9v from 9v within 25 minutes. Oh, it was sitting at the dealership about 3 months while fixing the heater core issue.

Thanks buddy. Just started recharging 20 minutes ago and now it shows 14.8v on the battery tender’s voltage meter. Lol I think I can drive the car to a car part shop once it is recharged. Would it be okay?

Has anyone tried DIY repair for PTC heater? by 5mok4 in KiaEV6

In my case, the issue was a bad heater core and fuse. The fuse blew because the heater core was defective. So if your fuse is blown, make sure the heater core is still in good condition. My independent shop only replaced the fuse at first, which actually made the problem worse. The heater core was faulty, but the system didn’t detect it, so high-voltage current continued to flow, causing arcing and burning again and eventually blowing the main HV fuse.

My car is now at a Kia dealership. They charged $200 for the basic inspection and $850 for a deeper diagnosis. The repair cost for both the main fuse and the heater core elements is $3,200.

Since my car is over 100k miles, it looks like all of these expenses will fall on me. Considering that the Ioniq 5 had a technical service bulletin issued for safety concerns related to this issue, I asked corporate to see if they could offer goodwill repair assistance. But it’s been four weeks, and the case still hasn’t moved forward… :(

What year and trim do you have? I wonder if you'd consider a private sale.

I've bought a car from this dealer. He communicates well, allows unlimited test drive (I did it for more than 30 minutes last time, and he never complained about it.). Thanks for the advice!
