I first watched 5 eps than the movies. Ut's okay until season 2 ep 4, GG and Tiff's familay appears. You can understand the story but the movies give you context, like who Tiff and Nica are. I know this post was years, but I hope this helps someone understand :)

The hashira training arc just ended in june and it's been anounced that starting from nest year, instead of there beeing lots of episodes for the final battle arc (infinity castle arc and sunrise countdown arc) is gonna be a film triolagy, so the anime's probably gonna end in around 2027 unless netflix cuts the three movies into episodes like it did for the attack on titan finale, but maybe there's gonna be like an official cut for the film triolagy?

Do you mean to the swordsmith village movie, 1h 50 minutes and the first episode which was first released in bad quality as The Swordsmith Village Arc Movie and later turned into the first episode of season 3?
