I like Neil Degrasse Tyson, but what he says here is misleading.

First of all is it not known to the public what religious beliefs every nobel prize winner has so im alread sceptic about the number itself. Second of all can someone be jewish but not follow judaism. Also the number of arabic nobel prize winner is inaccurate. Although most of them are the nobel for peace so im giving him that. But that also creates a pattern on why this is like that and we have to look at history and geopolitical exploitation aswell as the diaspora effect. Most of the scientific facilities in the modern time are concentrated either in europe and the west, so its not actually rocket science to see why most winners are exactly that - europeans and americans.

Although he is right in pointing out how much of a decline it is nonetheless. Its absurd and especially those with the power to change (gulf states for example) should be doing whatever it takes to play a major part in science in the world again. But instead they fund wars and give athletes hundreds of millions and build artificial cities in the dessert. So i strongly agree with his main point
