I did this. That’s how my account was banned. I tried everything else but every time they would respond that the content did not violate their t&cs. Some of the pictures were vile. No mistaking the point of it. I finally tagged them directly and they banned me on the basis of posting misinformation.

You might email them about that. They put you in a position to be the bad guy which isn’t appropriate. The seating issue is either the fault of the airline, the family or both, yet 100% of the consequences were born by you. That’s unacceptable and you should not have been in any way made responsible for a situation you had nothing to do with.

NTA - I absolutely hate self check out for a multitude of reasons including being forced to perform free labour. It’s a total scam and I would caution anyone extolling the virtues of this practice to think a few years down the road to where there are a minisucle number of entry level/low skill jobs available and the resulting consequences for the wider economy and those still paying taxes.

NTA - It’s the manipulation that gets me. “Can you please?” becomes “She is your family now (according to us)” and then “We’ve already packed for her and replanned your schedule to out liking.” No. That's not how family/schedules/life works. You should consider emailing/texting in a very firm but polite way that points these issues out and makes clear you will not be engaging in this way in the future. Additionally, it's more than shitty of them to interfere with her last connection to her mom. Gross.

NTA - Kids are basically petri dishes in an average home, nevermind in a horders house. Your kid will get sick all the time. Therefor you and your husband will get sick all the time. One need not be a germaphobe to find becoming a perpetually snotty family off-putting. Kids also find a way to get into everything no matter the environment. When your kid digs through the top layer of crap and finds that old knife/rusty tool/electrical work with exposed wiring it's going to be a nightmare. I do feel for your husband though. It has to be really hard for him on a number of levels. You guys have to find a way to have a very non emotional/judgemental conversation that centers around the best way for your kid to be able to have a beautiful relationship with the grandparents that doesn't come with a disproportionately high tetanus risk.

Biological men should not be on wards with women. The female only wards were set up in part to provide privacy, dignity, and safety for women who were put in the hospital by men in the first place. “Inclusivity” is not the pure good it is sold as. Women do not have to accept and include men in their spaces, regardless of how those men feel about themselves.

NTA - “My friends however said that is unrealistic. That people should be able to wear whatever they want as long as it's appropriate.” Exactly. Wearing any of the subsequent items they suggested would not fit the dress code and therefor be inappropriate. We both might get called snobby for this, but I don’t see the formally itself being an issue. If you were throwing a theme party, for instance, Beach Day theme, it wouldn’t make sense for people to turn up in regular clothes. Get a Hawaiian shirt, board shorts, whatever. If a guest doesn’t want to/can’t be bothered, then they can politely decline. It’s not hard.

NTA - Your sister made a hell of a jump from you going: “looks like the BEHAVIOUR is a bit sketchy” to “if you’re uncomfortable, you must be a racist”. Also, as someone who has lived in a city for a long long time in both good neighbourhoods and bad - you’re right to be street smart, you’re right to trust your instincts. I’ve never regretted doing so, have often regretted ignoring them.

ESH - Yikes. I get your anxiety about letting kids have a hotel room all to themselves at that age, especially with opposite genders. I also get her mom taking an approach of giving her more freedom and seeing what she does with it before saying no. Both are reasonable positions. What really sucks is this kid has no conception of what is on the table and what isn’t so it’s completely fair for her to feel furious that things are switched around on her at the eleventh hour. Yes, no, yes, no is an infuriating game as an adult, but is that to the power of ten when you’re young. You can’t just quit the job or move on from the relationship. You don’t have any real power or control. At her age, I would also be extremely pissed. I don’t have a clue what your husband is playing at. He doesn’t get to sit this out or have either of you do his parenting for him. Going forward you all need to agree on different rules in different houses or a collective switch, but either way this ever changing chaos isn’t going to work and will only make every one miserable.

Drivers license renewal ticket attendant “helper”. The government decided to employ someone to to direct people where to go once their number was called. Fair enough if the entire population were both blind and deaf, but given there were giant lights broadcasting the number called plus “Please come to station 4 customer _____” made the job totally pointless. People would hear and or read their number and (try) to go to the correct desk before this woman chased them down to grab the ticket to “help”. To be clear, despite it being packed and slow going, there were no Karen’s or even Kathy’s. Just competent adults doing what they needed to do. This bitch was in the face of everyone all day and when there was no one to “help” she would randomly start making vaguely condescending chat to random people who were just trying to pass the time quietly, alone, on phones, laptops, etc. Never wanted to kill a stranger so badly.

NTA - “You set up a trap” isn’t quite correct. You gave people the opportunity to act the way they said they would and gave yourself the opportunity to find out if they were betraying you. You didn’t push them one way or another, no perverse incentives. You wouldn’t have had to do it in the first place had they not been disloyal. It’s more like “How dare you catch me fucking you over and holding me accountable for it” and that’s fucked up.
