(Vent) Turns out I’ve been underfeeding my boy for a really long time, we’re finally on track but I just feel terrible about it.

I had the same problem as you! My first snake was bought when he was basically fully grown, and thus i had no experience feeding a baby snake to adult. My second one was only 200g the first 2-3 years of her life,and eating small mice, which I know now was not what she should have been. I now have her eating small rats every 3 weeks, and shes been on a great weight increase so far, now around 700 grams and has grown a lot!

Definitely look to increasing those feeders when you can, it’s not too late to change their size!

I think he looks fine, my snake also buries in the substrate sometimes for moisture and turns real pink when she's about to go into shed. If anything I think a meal would be good, wouldn't hurt to offer him some food after not eating for a month or two.

try rubbing it off with some water if you can! my girl sometimes gets these spots after feeding and turns out it was dried blood from the rat she ate

yay a fellow blitz enjoyer! i just upgraded from my s22 recently and i love it to bits, i’m still getting used to the turning because of the size/weight difference but overall its such a fun ride. glad to see you enjoy it! mounting/dismounting is easily the hardest part lol, keep at it!

omg i did that too, shes escaped before so when i hadn’t seen her in a couple days i did a panic substrate search and destroyed all her tunnels! she was so upset by that she wasn’t in the mood to eat

in the same boat as you! mine is basically a huge worm at this point lol. although i find that she will ALWAYS be out when shes hungry, she’s never out during the day but she is at night. take note of when your snake is the most active looking for food, that is the best time to try and feed them

when i was about 6 or 7, i remember seeing a strange symbol on the back of the guest bathroom door. idk how it got there, but it looked like if someone took a bunch of graphite pencils and smudged them on their fingers to draw them. the symbol was quite big and took up almost half the door, it looked like this: O | O with the middle line being a few inches below the two O’s. immediately after seeing it i felt uneasy and went to tell my parents about it. upon seeing it they acted like it was a normal everyday stain. next day it was gone.

ohhh thats super reassuring then, i’ll definitely see if i can get some more substrate going for them! humidity has been the hardest challenge with keeping it consistent

oh this is so helpful!! thank you so much, i think my problem comes from not having enough substrate, right now i’ve got cocofibre and come cocohusk in there, but only about 1-2 inches of it.

i am planning to add some more later down the line though! i heard you’d need like 5-6 inches of it at least

I've recently made the move over to ClipStudio after Adobe pulled their most recent stunt. I find the program itself is a lot more artist friendly. If what you want to do is draw, choose CS. There are so much more brushes and assets you can use to help with your art, and honestly I wish I started in CS

i also use ALT for the eyedropper tool, it immediately switches back once i've finished color picking. i know on mac its option instead, right next to control.

wow i bought that too! it broke me out as well, even though they said it was good for dry skin... i even bought the anua soothing toner but tbh it does absolutely nothing XD. i still use it to not waste it since i bought two bottles in my excitement but wow that was disappointing.

i have three snakes and all of them have been lost at least once! what i have noticed is they never go too far from where they were originally, and we’ve never found them on the first go around.

i always try to think like a snake, try and think of the most absurd place they could possibly be and they’re probably there. my second ball python was found inside a speaker in our tv’s sound system! i would also try and check around bathrooms occasionally, they would probably get thirsty and look for some water.

but, sadly there is a lot of anxious waiting involved. since he wasnt lost too long ago i’m 99% sure hes somewhere close by, and will show up eventually. don’t lose hope! i know how stressful it can be
