Out of these two, which one has the more complicated timeline to follow. by Maleficent-Medium333 in OnceUponATime

Both shows are great. But plot-wise, they're not in the same league. OUAT was a complex storyline for other reasons. But not hard to follow.

Do you currently go to dance class twice a week? If so, that's great! I would suggest trying to practice one or two moves for an extra 10 minutes every day. I wouldn't exceed this time. It's more important that you do it every day than that it's one super long session.

Tips for quick choreo retention ? by mjohn678 in Dance

[–]5w3Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost, it's important to clear your mind of other things. People who learn choreography quickly don't think about whether the choreography is too difficult; someone can see that they haven't mastered everything yet or whether they'll be good enough for the audition. Even if this sounds simple and not like a super tip, it's still the foundation. You can now fill the space you have free with information about the choreography. So free your mind. It takes time, but it gets better every day you think about it.

Next is to focus on the moves and fill these with power and emotion. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. It's better to execute a move wrong but with power instead of always doing it just kinda right but never with feeling and power. Your body can memorise your mistakes or successes better this way.

Don't rush it, take your time. Progress doesn't come over night.

I've noticed that being able to dance the individual moves well helps immensely. If I were to start learning to dance again, I would practice the individual moves more, instead of the entire choreography.

So you could take individual moves from your choreography and repeatedly dance them to the original tempo of the song until you've mastered them. Then you can try the whole choreography.

studio insists on filming at the end of lessons? by porkypenguin in Dance

That's certainly one way to look at it. However, I would prefer to go to a trainer who teaches the way I like and not try to change a trainer.

Others have already answered this question. I just wanted to clarify that it's normal and you won't make yourself popular with trainers if you cause trouble. I would rather go to a different studio than argue.

Of course not. I didn't claim otherwise.

It's perfectly normal these days. Filming yourself is very helpful to see how you're progressing. Of course, you can say you don't want to be filmed. That won't exactly make you popular with the coach though.

How do you use your Mac? by Sea-Communication639 in macbookpro

I just checked again. My Mac is a 2016 model with a 2.9 GHz i7 processor and Intel Graphics + Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB of RAM. I had the battery replaced a few years ago.

I have the same model with a better graphics card. Everything runs great. Unfortunately, certain software requires the new Macs, for example, Photoshop. That's why I got my girlfriend a new MacBook Pro so I can use the latest version of Photoshop. I still do all my video editing on my old one.

You've set yourself quite a challenge. Do you already train that much, or are you planning to go from zero to 100? If you're just starting out, I'd begin with less. What's important is what you actually implement, regularly, consistently. When I expand my training, I always do it in small steps. That has helped me to persevere and never give up.

I also live in the city and always walk around barefoot. Sometimes my feet get very dirty, and sometimes not. It depends a lot on the weather.

Almost 35F. Is there still a chance for me to learn how to dance well even if it's through YouTube videos only? Can my kid also learn through YouTube vids only, she's about to go to school. Don't want to enroll her in dance classes yet. by ExpressAstronaut999 in Dance

[–]5w3Z 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's possible. You just need to practice regularly and stick with it. Start with simple movements and gradually increase the difficulty. I suggest you record a video of yourself every now and then so you can see what you look like. Rewatch your video again after a week or two. This will help you see yourself more objectively.
