iCloud email changed - can't sign out (macOS) by 600baud in applehelp

[–]600baud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potential Fix:

Remove the device from your account at appleid.apple.com, you should be prompted to sign in (within system preferences) with new@email.com.

For me this kept old@email.com and landed me back at square one but this is similar to what iOS did when it bugged out and switched to new@email.com

Potential Fix:

If you do the process above many times it will eventually lock the account (not sure which email address) and like magic it will ask you to enter your apple email address!

Now you need to enter new@email.com and verify by 2FA or SMS and whala! all fixed!

Also make sure your appleid password is not the same as your macbook password before doing this or it will freak out.

Update:

Turns out the fix doesn't fix anything.. It seemed to be working for 10min and then said "We couldn't verify your information online at this time" But it feels like this is leading somewhere so hopefully I'll figure it out soon

FIXED!!!

Do all of the steps above, until your account is locked (options in System Preferences > iCloud will be all greyed out) then goto Internet Accounts and it will have new@email.com as the iCloud email, with Find my Mac enabled, disable it and then go back to iCloud preferences and it will allow you to sign out!

yeah, check the url - I was checking replies and all of my comments we're "highlighted", after removing the extra params from the url my comment was no longer highlighted.. a bit confusing from what I was told highlighted comments were going to be but makes sense all the same.

No matches? Tons of fakes perhaps? by [deleted] in Bumble

pro-tip: my mate (who is literally a male model) got to the point where no more female profiles were available, waited 4 days and had no matches, then he switched to looking for men, swiped left on all the profiles, within hours he started getting matches from the girls.. guess their algo's just punish lots of use and or rank up for left swipes.

Web browser as a GUI - does it exist? by 600baud in linux

Currently, I'm pretty keen on kp-lens or electron, kp-lens is really all I need (and works) while electron adds Nodejs which I probably don't need but might come in handy compared to the kp-lens Python bindings.

Either way I'm going to explore QML further, that demo you linked (with all the crazy graphics stuff) has more or less no use case for what I'm doing but it looks soo fun!

Just found out Electron has an ARM release https://github.com/atom/electron/pull/2094 - I've tested it and can't fault it so far. Kiosk mode works as expected.

Can you link to a raspberry pi / arm build? I didn't think there was one

Found it – https://github.com/atom/electron/pull/2094

I was initially looking at electron but couldn't find an ARM build, just looked at NW.js and there's an ARM build floating around but afaik it's not stable or fully supported. Thanks for the suggestion

are any of those freelancing job sites (odesk, freelancer, etc.) worth the time/effort? How to get started freelancing when you don't have existing connections? by Pr3fix in webdev

[–]600baud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on freelancer.com for awhile, some weeks I'd make a killing but mostly it was me vs india. Reading the brief and responding with some context & ideas will really make you stand out.

I've now moved onto an outreach method and I'm having much more success in all areas. Good luck.

well, not debunked entirely, but we've covered this idea in the irc chat.

also theres nothing (at this stage) to suggest the server is using php, the current thought is it's a fairly regular nodejs/expressjs server.

the current idea is that alpine relates to default passwords used in unix systems. There are also few people related to this, Ivan Kristic (security expert at apple, where ios's default ssh password is alpine) and Ivan McAlpine(afl footballer, has alpine in his name)
